I think the dividend is being maintained as the company
is worth twice the present value, and once the value
is nearer 50p, the dividend will be perceived as near
a more normal level.
Yes was in Windermere myself in July, lots and lots of
Chinese visitors.

Agree, although I have been saying that for years.

Burberry imho is less known in the UK than LA, also
Burberry to the majority of people are known only for
a raincoat or a scarf with a check print on, as for
LA is is known for lots of products. The need to move the
HQ to Singapore and close the fashion stores.

I hold a small amount here and the divi returns are very good it pays for a little Holliday
This is looking extreamly exciting as rumours in the City suggest the Brand "Laura Ashley"is worth 4 times market cap
Got a couple of divi,s coming before Christmas from 2 energy stocks so will top up

Indeed, shareprice is gradually curving up again.
Can buy at 28p for reasonable amounts so the quoted ask is too high really.

I follow a similar logic. I apply a valuation based upon me woning the whole damn thing. You often get a bid on stocks which are attractive in this way. I think ALY has greater potential than is present and thus the PERs applied by the IIs which are obviouly quite lowly are a tad shy IMO.

Just gut feeling as a brand we are worth so much more than £200m,
that is without the assets or the profits. And I would think very clever,
successful and wealthy retailers like Sir Philip Green can see that.

Put it one way I would buy the whole of aly if I was him, as China
embrace everything west, now Laura Ashley is very West and even better
British, it will only be a matter of time. Until it happens I continue
to buy.

or something big, maybe the Singapore purchase is part of
the trade off for the major shareholder.
