churchtower and werty5,

I am cautiously optimistic given Samsung & Apple's numbers and the market is not building any of this into Laird's forthcoming numbers.

These are the very reasons I invested in LRD last week. When the IMS confirms that Laird's May statement is no longer valid and that the company's revenues are now back on a growth path, then we should see a change in expectations and a share price back above £2.

We could even hear talk once again of LRD being a possible takeover target. GLA c2i

Churchtower you have stated exactly what I think about the prospects for Laird. I hope next IMS proves it, not long to find out now.

Werty5 - It must be good news for Laird. An article on 3rd May 2013 about Apple and Laird by Christopher Williams the Technology and Telecoms Editor of the Daily Telegraph confirms the understanding I had that Laird also supplies components to Samsung. He stated inter alia " Like many in the complicated smartphone supply chain, however, Laird also makes components for Apple's main rival Samsung and others. It also supplies automotive and medical equipment firms".

IMO too much importance is still being attached to Laird's statement in May that revenue had declined by 17% from one of their largest customers, widely assumed to be Apple. The market does not seem to have recognised the record June quarter iPhone sales of over 31 million announced three days ago by Apple. This coupled with the news, that you have found, that Samsung has also just reported a record quarterly profit boosted by growing smartphone sales, further supports that belief. Regards CH.

If ADVFN trades are accurate then at the close we have 696771 shares bought and 162838 sold which resulted in 1/2 p rise. What are the MM's playing at? If there is a seller still around then surely this situation will soon end and a strong rise could follow. CH.

I have purchased Laird LRD this morning, nice yield (albeit less than 2 times covered) whilst I wait for it to recover from its slumber or get acquired by a predator. GLA c2i

I also added further at the opening. Once again we have this anomaly with buys exceeding sells by 817% at the moment and yet hardly any movement in the share price. CH.

Not the impact on the share price I was expecting might have to wait for IMS and hope it is a good one. Previous IMS stated that everything should be weighted toward the second half of the year and with Apple looking to release some new products things look good for Laird also share price looks like a bargain at the moment that is why I have brought back in.

This surely can only be good news for Laird with their present and ongoing evolution in multiple input and output antenna for mobile devices. Although Apple is a major customer it should be remembered that there are others, Samsung I believe is another. This does therefore seem to be a buying opportunity with the share price having stalled recently, an attractive increasing dividend (currently 4.59%) and the Company announcement due next week, but as usual only IMO and DYOR. Part of statement by Tim Cook Apple's CEO in results announced tonight - " We are especially proud of our record June quarter iPhone sales of over 31 million and the strong growth in revenue from iTunes, Software and Services. We are really excited about the upcoming releases of iOS 7 and OS X Mavericks, and we are laser-focused and working hard on some amazing new products that we will introduce in the fall and across 2014."

Yet another day with buys substantially exceeding sells. Today if ADVFN figures are correct - by 392%. Is there a seller still out there or are the MMs accumulating stock prior to the 1st of August's announcement. Any thoughts out there ? CH.

From what I read in the FT yesterday churchtower a lot of new produces from Apple are coming on stream shortly and Laird suggested in their statement the second half would improve, I hope my judgement is right.Wish you well with your investment churchtower

Tom 111 - I have always been accused of pedantry so my apologies. It was the words "not bode well" which threw me. Glad we are in agreement, I have been building steadily over the last several months. I have never trusted the market makers and it could well be that they are attempting to build stock prior to the announcement on 1st August. On the majority of days recently buys have exceeded sells, sometimes substantially, with little upward movement. We shall see a week on Thursday. Regards CH.

Tom 111 - Your question is to me a little ambiguous. Are you inferring that this will be to the detriment or benefit of Laird ? Sadly the technical mysteries of these advances are beyond me but I would have thought that their expertise in producing performance critical products for wireless and other advanced electronics applications and in particular for Apple must mean that it will be to their benefit. Hopefully someone with more technical knowledge may add their comments. Regards - CH.

Apple is expected to launch new iPhones including an upgrade and new cheaper units by year end and iOS7 a radical change in mobile systems since smart phones 2007.Does this not bode well for the future of a Laird Group over the coming months,or am I missing something
