31/12/2021 11:55 | AQC888. Without sounding rude, you are sounding like a paid ramper. “IF” all you say comes true then great however, Basu should be spelling this out to us shareholders not some blogger on a blog board. Said without any disrespect. GLA. I’m hoping! | b00mb0y
31/12/2021 11:10 | Market is missing this one big time broker note Sept 2021 in excess of 50p absolute bargain IMHO | senttothegallows
31/12/2021 10:47 | I’m increasingly confident of my prediction in post 5689 when share price was 14.5p Here’s my prediction for the coming 2months... Share price will reach highs of 18p approaching interim results. Interim results on Jan 18th will be slightly ahead of analysts forecasts & there will be some news of some kind that sparks further interest from the market in the biological pathogen detectors, pushing the share price up to highs of 25p. Simon Thompson will include his old ‘strong buy’ favourite in his annual bargain portfolio on 4th February, giving it a 30% boost on the day. By mid-Feb, if the above three predictions come true, it would be hard to imagine Kromek trading below 30p. Very exciting 8weeks ahead! | aqc888
31/12/2021 10:46 | Kromek are lower now than when this thread was started in 2013. | stockstockham
31/12/2021 10:43 | Only x4 companies have received multi million darpa contracts to develop the biological pathogen detector. Only Kromek have received U.K. government funding to develop it. Kromeks is the most advanced. Kromek had x2 years head start before pandemic started. Kromek are ready for sales and talking to multiple governments. Kromek have been building an economic moat around their development with the 4th most patents in the U.K. (see ip100 list) Who are these other companies that will come out of nowhere to take the whole market?? Details??? | aqc888
31/12/2021 08:40 | Yep, agree, ark. However hope is all that we have left. But if your talking of end of 2022 before significant movement then forget it. Some other companies will have smashed it by then. | b00mb0y
31/12/2021 03:36 | Best not to get hopes up and be pleasantly surprised when something does come in. They have potentially until end of 2022 could be another 6+ months before we hear anything. How they haven't given us an update after implying the machine works fantastically well 6 months ago is beyond me. Wed, 13th Jan 2021 "Kromek is engaging with potential customers for the COVID-19 detection system... The Group expects the first pilots with potential users to commence by the end of this financial year and anticipates commercial deployment in 2021/22" | ark87
30/12/2021 21:05 | Top Scientists from everywhere on TVs Christmas Lectures on bio detection and prevention. Well, I say everywhere, everywhere except kmk. Now that would have been game changing. Ah well…… | b00mb0y
30/12/2021 08:29 | Kromek getting their ducks lined up. hxxps://alter.com/tr | talk2tony
28/12/2021 21:03 | Christmas lectures on telly tomorrow night. Covid detection and how we may be able to stop it. Can kmk do this? Hope so. | b00mb0y
28/12/2021 20:54 | Will probably open up higher tomorrow. Should be good demand, although at times, expect volatility! | davethechef
28/12/2021 20:23 | Kromek are one of these companies that have large gaps between news. News when it comes is likely to be huge with anything from large contracts to outright take out be it agreed or hostile. FWIW I hope they remain independent as I would tend to agree with the earlier post that £2 isn't out of the question. I certainly wouldn't want to be out of Kromek over the coming month imho | senttothegallows
28/12/2021 19:31 | AQC888. I say it has to be promising simply because it’s “not before time”. At least I hope not. | b00mb0y
28/12/2021 19:07 | B00mb0ys still high on Christmas spirit with a positive post on Kromek! Quepassa will be posting on his love of Kromek next! Increasingly excited by the Jan 18th update, including biological pathogen detector news. Any positive news here will surely be supercharged (if it needs any further supercharging) by Simon Thompson. Who will surely include a repeated strong buy tip in his bargain shares edition - following a positive update (early feb). Very excited indeed, a repeat of Xaar on the way. 21days and counting... Anyone who thinks the world will risk a repeat of the previous two years of pandemic suffering for the sake of saving £1.5bn per country is delusional. Omicron is over. The memories, and fears of a repeat of the previous two years will never fade. Kromek offers a bright future for investors - and an even brighter future for the wider world. A share price here of well over £1 is not as unlikely as many would suspect. I wouldn’t bet against Kromek reaching £2 by 2023. | aqc888

28/12/2021 14:12 | The full article (hopefully) from the Financial Times article as it's behind a paywall when I tried first to view on the 15th. "DECEMBER 15 2021 Coronavirus pandemic Covid has shown we must build better pandemic defences Biological detection and surveillance systems would help find the next dangerous pathogen before it spreads" The writer is biosecurity fellow at Magdalene College, Cambridge. Hamish de Bretton-Gordon The world has been struggling for nearly two years in the grip Covid-19, and the emergence of the Omicron variant has brought a wave of fresh infections. There is no doubt that the virus originated in China but that is as far as our knowledge goes: a serious lacuna given this pathogen has killed over 5.3m people and spread rapidly across the globe. The UK government has responded well with vaccines, therapeutic drugs and financial support to the economy. But it has done less well on procuring protective equipment, tracking the progression of the virus and working to detect the next pandemic. This is despite intensifying calls for action. Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates last month urged the WHO to establish a task force for disease surveillance and suggested the US and UK would have to spend “tens of billions” on research and development to guard against a future pandemic. Sarah Gilbert, who led development of the AstraZeneca Covid vaccine, has also urged politicians to invest in prevention. “This will not be the last time a virus threatens our lives and our livelihoods,” she warned this month. “The truth is, the next one could be worse. It could be more contagious, or more lethal, or both.” "British ministers appear to recognise the importance of a pandemic threat infrastructure. Prime minister Boris Johnson spoke earlier this year of his ambitions for “an early warning system for the next pathogen, enabled by a worldwide network of pandemic surveillance centres”, and said the UK would work with the WHO on this project. However, progress updates have not been forthcoming. Britain’s Joint Biosecurity Centre, founded in May 2020 to advise government on outbreak response, could run an effective early detection force at a UK level. But its role is entirely reactive and focused on Covid-19: broadening its remit to detect and respond to the next pandemic would be a quick win. National pathogen early warning systems (NPEWS) would help contain epidemics before they spread, and feed into a wider global system (GPEWS) to prevent epidemics progressing into full pandemics. A detection capacity in Wuhan might have prevented the reported 14m journeys in January 2020 which spread coronavirus worldwide before China finally locked down at the end of that month. Uncertainties around whether Covid originated as a leak from the Wuhan Institute of Virology make it imperative that all bio-safe labs where dangerous pathogens are examined should be fitted with systems which can immediately raise the alarm in case of any security breach." "Effective detection would require an array of sensors — consisting of an air sampling device and a rapid DNA sequencer — at ports, airports, and international rail hubs. This would act as a virus weather map operating in near real time. Once detected, infected people or animals would be obliged to quarantine or isolate. Since the system picks up only the location of dangerous pathogens, rather than the individuals affected, people in the relevant area would have to agree to be tested in order to isolate the source. The cost of an integrated threat system is estimated at around £2bn for a country the size of the UK, according to the chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear threat security company Kromek. Given the £37bn budgeted for a moribund test and trace system, threat detection looks like good value. The WHO, which is already responsible for pandemic surveillance, has had neither the resources nor the political clout to engineer change. But Johnson and his ministers should use the influence of Global Britain to lobby for investment in prevention worldwide. We have seen the damage done by the current pandemic: there is not a moment to waste in stopping the next in its tracks." | 33mick

23/12/2021 12:14 | Top experts provide Arnab Basu with handbook for getting their products to market. But Arnab decides to ignore them as he does his shareholders. And so the share price continues on the downtrend. | b00mb0y
23/12/2021 10:45 | "Top Experts Release Handbook for Ending Catastrophic Biological Risks" 21 DECEMBER 2021 "In order to align investments to implement the vision outlined in this report, the authors propose that the U.S. federal government adopt a resourcing plan that they call 10+10 over 10: investments of $10 billion per year for ten years for deterring and addressing biological weapons threats, plus $10 billion per year for ten years for global health security and direct pandemic prevention initiatives." "The U.S. Department of Defense should: Develop & implement a “deterrence by denial” strategy regarding biological weapons threats, and, as such, expand missions of key programs to include deterrence Implement an annual exercise program to enhance early warning & rapid response capabilities Expand the Chemical and Biological Defense Program significantly Use the Biological Threat Reduction program to deploy new technologies for pathogen early warning Broaden the mission of USAMRIID & grant the institute more independence through restructuring" | 33mick
22/12/2021 18:58 | I’ve sold a few things as I think war and the general outlook is not good. While my Kromek are up 8.28% I’m very reluctant to sell any as I really do believe they will have positive news come 18th jan and that they are a strong contender for the IC Bargain shares edition which will give them a huge boost. I would agree with a shake up once the biological pathogen detector has been released. I’d say that would be a good point to focus on commercialising all of Kromeks products and consolidate their position with less spending on R&D. Kromek have got to have a few years of profitability and shore up their balance sheet before embarking on any new products. Right now shareholders want to start seeing the fruits of past investments. Share price holding up pretty well for such as large sell. | aqc888
22/12/2021 18:19 | One known fact here AQC, the BOD need a effin good shake up. If your 10% up on your KMK gamble then you might want to consider selling. A profit is a profit is it not? | b00mb0y
22/12/2021 17:36 | Looks very likely a war will start in Ukraine soon. A lot of unknowns on the horizon | aqc888
