26/10/2020 12:33 | Quote from SuperN's Irish Examiner find in inverted "" “We had 15 patients who clinically appeared to have Covid-19 but whose swabs were negative for the virus. We collected breath samples from them and we were able to detect Covid-19 in 14 of these 15 patients,” Prof Hennessy said. “The percentages were so high to suggest that breath clearly has the potential to outperform nasal swabbing,” he said. It's not hard to imagine the logical Kromek design progression going swiftly to general personal testing. In Hospital admissions, Boarding flights, Uni / School admission's, Cruise ships,..etc etc.. with all the vast global cost savings. | 33mick

26/10/2020 00:24 | Deepverge trying to do something similar - detection of airborne virus - but as an integrated system. As far as I understand it, they want you to buy a sort of breathalyser and a set of chips, then every day put a new chip in the breathalyser, breathe into it, and check the result. The chips use Avacta affimers for virus detection. The output is linked to a smartphone app - not sure how - which I guess can report into a national system. Or something like that :¬) If chips and breathalysers were cheap enough it could work well as a universal track and trace system, which is a smart idea, but Deepverge is run by an Irish chancer - Gerry Brendan - so no idea where it might end up. Kromek have a terrific opportunity to get ahead in that game - all they need is a great plan, top class management, and enough funds to drive it forward. :) It remains interesting... | supernumerary
25/10/2020 20:27 | Well our CEO has said in recent interviews & I quote "Unique product range" & "One of a kind in the world" This is from the Equity Development interview with our Arnab Basu, 10 October 2020. Promising. Value to come out in time. | davethechef
25/10/2020 08:50 | An interesting article from a few months back talking about the efforts to tackle Covid virus 'in air' detection and the few company's that are involved.. Kromek I guess will be up there added to the list shortly..as they appear to have cracked the "Real Time" live analysis tech. ""But the (current)devices don’t deliver results in real time—they don’t beep to alert people nearby that the virus has been detected. Instead, the collected samples must be sent to a lab to be analyzed, typically with a method called PCR, or polymerase chain reaction." | 33mick
22/10/2020 20:54 | Yes I can sympathise & appreciate that. I've researched & although a relative newbie here; it looks interesting & has huge potential, I believe in time. Admittedly, speculative, but has reasonable income & partners, global potential. I see it having good recovery, momentum soon to set in. GLA | davethechef

20/10/2020 20:06 | Kromek to showcase new AARM system via webinar (20th October 2020). Kromek (AIM: KMK), a worldwide supplier of detection technology focusing on the medical, security screening and nuclear markets, will be showcasing its latest drone solution via webinar at 1pm BST tomorrow. The webinar, which will be hosted by Eve Paylor, Product Manager, who will provide an overview of the new AARM system, discuss key features an applications, and include a Q&A session. The AARM system locates, measures and maps radioactivity in real-time, significantly speeding and improving the efficiency of radiation detection. It is comprised of ImiTec’s Remote Isotopic Analysis System™ (RIAS™) that is based on Kromek’s lightweight gamma spectrometer. The RIAS, which is mounted on a Small Unmanned Aircraft System (SUAS), contains positioning devices utilising custom-built software to combine radiation intensity and geolocation data to produce high-resolution mapping of radiation levels and identification of isotopes. As a result, it enables low altitude radiation mapping with aerial imaging and observation, including over high-dose areas and inaccessible locations, whilst minimising the risk of operator exposure. The AARM system is used across multiple applications, including: Rapid emergency response monitoring of radiation events Routine monitoring of nuclear installations throughout the life-cycle Monitoring radiation in the oil & gas industry Environmental monitoring for radiation hazards Exploring for Rare Earth Elements Defence and Homeland security operations To learn more, register here to attend our product webinar at 1pm on 21 October: For more information or to download a product brochure, click here: | sev22

14/10/2020 09:08 | Another potential revenue stream, more good news here.. from proactive Investor s today Kromek CZT detectors to be used in medical imaging during cancer surgery The detection specialist is working with medical imaging firm Adaptix and the University of Manchester to develop a pathology cabinet that will provide 3D images offering accurate differentiation between cancerous and healthy tissue Kromek Group PLC - Kromek CZT detectors to be used in medical imaging during cancer surgery Kromek Group PLC (LON:KMK) said it has started development of a new system to improve pathological medical imaging techniques used during cancer surgery to distinguish between healthy and non-healthy tissue. The detection technology specialist said the three-year project, which has received a grant from Innovate UK and is being conducted in partnership with medical imaging firm Adaptix and the University of Manchester, is aiming to develop a prototype of a new type of pathology cabinet, based on Kromek's CZT detectors and Adaptix's Flat Panel X-Ray Source technology. WATCH: Kromek Group says 2019-20 was 'operationally a very strong, successful year' The prototype will produce high-resolution 3D images that provide more accurate differentiation of the boundaries between cancerous and healthy tissue, enabling surgeons to remove the minimum amount of healthy tissue when extracting cancer tumours and reduce the risk of more than one operation being needed and of cancer spreading from diseased tissue left after the initial surgery. It is not the first instance of Kromek’s CZT being used in medical devices, with the technology currently used for early detection of diseases such as breast cancer, cardiac conditions and osteoporosis. "This is an exciting project for Kromek as it takes our CZT-based detectors into a new application area. Our technology is already being used by leading OEMs to enable the early diagnosis of cancer. With this system, we will contribute to improving the outcome of surgeries through greater image quality”, Kromek chief executive Arnab Basu said in a statement. “It will reduce the risk of diseased tissue remaining and further surgeries being required while minimising the removal of healthy tissue, which will be of great benefit to both healthcare providers and patients. We look forward to working alongside our partners, Adaptix and the University of Manchester, to complete the development of this new system and take it to the next stage", he added. Shares in Kromek rose 4.1% to 13.7p in early trading on Wednesday. Quick facts: Kromek Group PLC Price: 13.111 GBX | 33mick |
