and that link that you've posted is completely irrelevant. kier took over birmingham roads maintenance on an entirely different agreement and was a beneficiary of the failure of the amey contract. again, more rubbish.

you're in denial about the real story which is kier's massive success. Huge order book, massive cash generation, £165m in net cash, a £100m increase in just one year. Davies has transformed the business and it is paying dividends again, back in the ftse250, profitable, securely funded and the leader in lots of construction sectors. it's an amazing hard-won transformation from being a bombed out shell four years ago.

Like I said, show me just one post where you've been right. You can't even show one. Just trolling for attention.

As for 'tenders' and the general election, the election is over and kier has £10.7bn in contracts, enough to keep it more than busy for the next two years. House-building boom? what house-building boom? if there is one, kier will be part of it in its network rail joint venture. you are wasting your time here, talking rubbish.

The above report shows the delays suffered on pfi scheme- a point I believe you glossed over?
Some advice - try to engage in a debate rather shout it down.

You've been wrong too many times to mention - Thames Water not keeping to its capital spend, General Election affecting release of tenders, projects put on hold Sunnica.
Your failure to address why second tranche suppliers are not paid on time. Those who want to can look at your vacuous comments.
3.5% margin on £4bn revenue- we shall see how HMG exerts its buying power and if housebuilding boom creates shortages in construction sector. Your posts, suggedts to me you might work for Kier?

btw, if you read the update, you'll see that kier has £165m in net cash and access to £400m in debt facilities (mostly undrawn) and has no need of any extra working capital.

stutes, you've trolled this thread with hundreds of doom-mongering posts over the last couple of years. can you point to any one of them that has been true? Even just one?

You've also failed to ever explain why you're posting here so i'm assuming you're an attention seeking child. Show me just one post out of your hundreds that was right and if you can't do that, stop being such an @sshole.

A guess at this point, but happy to make one. i reckon kier could pay out about £30m in dividends. That would be a yield of about 4% on the current shareprice of 160p.

Wait for the rights issue to boost working capital as revenue increases.

Thanks for your reply. Much appreciated.Do you have an idea of how much the dividend might be?

No qualifying period for the dividend. You just have to own the shares on the date of the 'record date'. It's sometimes even after the announcement.

How do you qualify for a dividend with Kier?

shareprice should be nearer £3. 3.5% profit margin on turnover of £4bn is £140m and that's at the lower end of Kier's target. With net cash of £165m they look like they've smashed it.. current p/e of 17 is on just £41m of earnings and they've just trebled it!

That £165m of net cash compares very favourably to the £17m they had at the end of December.

A massive re-rating will be occurring here. Kier has net cash of £165m and is the clear sector leader in prisons, schools and hospitals, not to mention its huge presence in every aspect of public infrastructure such as roads, and now rail (due to its purchase of Buckingham's rail division). Order book is a huge £10.7bn and that is likely to grow under the current Labour government.

My guess is that the final dividend will be double the interim - Kier committed to paying out a third of its cash profits in dividends a few years back during its last share issue and investors have waited patiently for that return.

All analysts have Kier down as a buy and Berrenberg's price target was 220p (from memory) but I think we will blow past that very quickly now.

A stellar performance five years in the making. Possibly Kier's best ever performance. Profit is likely to be more than doubled but probably even better than that. Davies tends to downplay success but there's no disguising the complete transformation here.

How many of the recent construction sector takeovers are initiated by the financial sector pulling a few strings?
I'm also looking at Tilbury Douglas and wondering how long before the owners (banks) decide to exit via a trade sale, who will buy Tilbury Douglas?

Skanska is a global business, however, the UK unit is the one bit of the Empire that is mentioned as flagging a reststement of its accounts due to additional cost to complete review.
We have seen Willmott Dixon and Skanska reporting a few problems. Who next?
