Not a massive vote of confidence IMO, what's his remuneration, £800k plus freebie shares and he buys £50k, token gesture IMO but not exactly backing the lorry up is he.

AI will allow companies to do the same amount of work with fewer people since AI will generate content which people will have to finish and put final touches to.

In a sector with a big shortage of talent, that means a company can take on more work, on the condition they're able to get a grip on AI tools.

So this favours companies that already have talented people to figure out these AI tools and processes and good practices to work with them.
It also favours companies that can build their own AI tools for specialised work.

These companies will be able to do work cheaper, because they'll be able to produce more/hour and more/employee.
This means they'll be able to take market share.

Keywords studios is a company like this.

AI is in their favour as it tackles the bottleneck of shortages of talent.
IP owners can theoretically also developed AI tools, but it wouldn't change the current trends in the sector that results from the problems of this sector: have to hire a lot for development, and than fire a lot after development.
Outsourcing is a way to reduce costs and a troublesome hire/fire cycle.

Keywords plays into this and allow IP owners to keep their cost structure cleaner, more flexible.

Erm less people means more revenue, surely.

Isn't the danger that KWS technicians can use AI so a project can be done with less people, therefore less revenue.

Are companies going to use someone with a proven faultless track record or a new cheaper supplier that might not produce a reliable product .

Even with all the positive sounding mentions of AI. I guess that only works in the US! KWS is just to expensive still to overcome the perceived AI threat...

Moving towards my entry point at around 1500. All the hi-tech 'growth' stocks seem to be seeing a bit of a revaluation so I don't think this is just about KWS. At the current price it is still at 28 PE which is about right for a growth stock. I don't think that AI will sink KWS but it could limit their future growth rates which could put further pressure on the share price, that said any good news on the revenues (and profit) could see this pop. At 1500 I think the risk/reward is about right (at least for me!).

Sounds like they have someone in charge of AI strategy (it’s a promo article for the OU Business School, but see end part of article ‘Looking to the future’) hxxps://tinyurl.com/mwz7nnza . Has a tech background hxxps://tinyurl.com/5h788ufv

Pretty good example of what is possible now with AI. Unity AI market place contains a number of verified solutions that you would think eat into Keywords business.

if the co has obligations to provide shares to staff via the EBT as part of reward package in principle KWS can:

1. issue new shares to the EBT i.e. dilute
2. fund the EBT so the EBT can buy from the market - unless, of course, the EBT is already awash with cash in which case why not use that cash.
