It's broken through the 20 and 50 day moving averages quite quickly, with the 100 day ma being at 40.15 p.

FBYep...in hindsight that wasn't very clever, but as you say, hopefully they won't repeat that again. Their cash management is now well scrutinized in part by the RBL, and I think that mindless gung-ho management is no longer a worry for shareholders (hopefully).

The share buybacks came while Montara was shut in. They spent 20m GBP buying shares around 90p and then had to raise funds at half that because they had spent opex funds on buybacks. They won't do it again and it does look finally, like they have learned how to communicate with shareholders as well as instis.

FBYour quite right USC per share Divi...... not really worth having imo. Arguably the share buybacks, prior to the Montara fup, were a good thing.....Still down the road hopefully shareholders here will end up the winners.......

As I recall, Badger, it was USC1.99. Not USD1.99. Just one letter but a 100 fold difference. They were too quick into paying a dividend, and the share buyback was a terrible idea in hindsight. Though BB posters don't have a monopoly in hindsight one would think they do to read some of the sneering posts on here. Talking to you, wee Gerry.

Plenty will be looking to buy as well. IMO sellers at these levels, unless you're trading it from the lower share price levels, are doing themselves a huge disservice.

Prior to the FPSO balls up in 2022 JSE paid usd1.99 ps dividend....as well as a program of ongoing share buybacks.Next year, all being well, this could be reinstated if they can repay the RLB .....and Akatara becomes the cash cow being mooted.

One screw up on the FPSO was bad enough......there shouldn't have been any sequels...

..However, the latest RNS suggests they may have rather belatedly learnt their lesson about communicating with the owners of the company

Agreed. Plenty will be happy to sell up, treat it as a loss put it down to experience and and move on for sure.

The FPSO may well be sorted, it'll still take time to convince holders & potential holders of the stock regarding the operational competence of management ......

By all accounts the bad news is history, according to the management and it's up to you if you want to believe it.....and I do.Posters like pughman just make people's life a misery, because he's currently a loser and can't stop moaning about it....,yawn!

This stock is so undervalued as a robust producing oiler, that it's worth, imo, shouting "from the rooftops" about it as a no brainer buy. Lucky for me my average share price is just about 30p......and all other things being equal it will break a quid a share in the not too distant future. It sounds like some (FB for one) here may have to wait a bit longer than me to be in profit..... but patience is required, and moaning about what happened to the share price after Montara incidents (twice) won't make any difference. I should imagine that the management have learned their lesson this time.....and there's so much value added in the pipeline to look forward to....... virtually a doubling of prior stable output in 6-9 months.

To save you talking to yourself, why don't you post on LSE. Company guidance for Akatara is H1 24, not Q1.
