Brownfields, byproducts and tailings are South Africa’s biggest growth opportunity

Mining stakeholders ought to do more to capitalise on existing resources, such as available geological and mining data, Orion Minerals CEO Errol Smart noted at the 2022 Council for Geoscience Summit, on Wednesday.

He explained that he felt that brownfield exploration, based on historical data supplemented by new research using newer technologies and methods, could result in South African explorers finding metals fast enough to meet current demand for critical metals.

SB, it's not just that, although there is some truth in what you say. The other reason is that were a bid to come along now then it would at least propel the share price upwards, because nothing else is , and none of us are immortal ! CheersFrog

People only want the company to be sold because they don't have the discipline to sell themselves...they want the decision taken for them. Given the growth plans and the fact that Leon has clearly demonstrated the company's ability to deliver on projects, this is going to £1 in the next 3 years. If it were sold for anything less it would be criminal aftre the years of investment and patience by the LTHs.

i wonder if you would, in hindsight, I wish I had cased in at 20p and doubled up on my holding now but I am not a trader, I am a long term investor. My ideal time frame is the next 3 years but 6 max and I want to be out

Liked the line in the recent investor presentation when LC stated a major would have to pay a very large amount if they wanted JLP to become a subsidiary !

The most significant slide in the presentation:

Mine Waste
• Jubilee has secured rights to approximately 300 million tonnes of
copper and cobalt material at surface
• Opportunity exists to grow surface material portfolio to in excess of
600 million tonnes
• Northern Refining Strategy can be significant scaled on back of
Southern Refinery success and increased resources
• Combined resource holds potential to scale the Northern Refining
Strategy alone to 40 000 tonnes of copper per annum

Hub Strategy – Small Scale Miners
• Refined strategy on back of lessons learnt from South, to
implement dedicated copper and a cobalt refining footprint
through potential repurposing of existing copper refinery and
acquisition of decommissioned cobalt refinery
• Jubilee is advancing discussions to gain access to existing copper
refining footprint in partnership with current owners
• Jubilee is advancing discussion to acquire cobalt refining footprint
for the Northern Strategy

Just need metals to rise Adejuk, then we will start to see a rise. I'm reading everywhere about the copper shortage. Need the Chinese to stop fiddling about with covid and get building. And Putin to wind it in.

Copper up 4.5 percent this afternoon! Technically going much higher now. Leon did mention rainy season starting soon in South America and Zambia which leads to less copper output and higher copper prices. Let's go JLP!!

The reason why they thought it was bad......They don't undestand what is going on. They just want rapid cash (don't we all but..)

I don't know why people think the result were bad, we were expecting a drop in the bottom line due to a lower basket price and disruption to production but gross profit is only down by 25% ... short term pain for a long term gain. The net profit this year took a bit a tax hit but overall we are looking damn healthy...
