Quite so sleveen old chum, it is very important that he does not miss the 69 day deadline for decision. Anyone recall when that is up ?

Agreed, we were expecting lower profits due to the Inyoni expansion.

The crux of the mater is how is the Northern operation being progressed and more pertinently what is the cost and how is it to be funded?

Clearly a refurbished facility will be much lower cost (internally funded?) than a green field site.

Leon, which one is it?

Puzzled by the £/$ rate they've used. Disappointed at lack of mention of cobalt.Nothing outstanding but decent results considering all the problems locally and globally. Surely this will underpin the share price at 12-14p with some positive news in cobalt and expansion driving on towards the elusive 20p mark.

Bit quiet on here? Apart from the problem with water and electricity at Roan which they are dealing with I can't see anything we weren't expecting. This is after all only up to June this year.

Copied from an earlier post
"Zambia, Jubilee increased copper production by 14 per cent to 1,388 tonnes in the six-months to 30 June 2022, generating net revenue per tonne of £6,854, well above the unit operating cost of £3,796 per tonne. Net copper earnings increased 30 per cent to £4.2mn on the previous half-year. Even at the current lower spot copper price of $8,100 (£6,639) per tonne, Jubilee’s copper operation is hugely profitable.”

Can someone remind me of the cost per tonne of the copper we produce. I remember a figure of 43% margin but that was PGM's

Thanks for the welcome gents. Despite having no position for the last 18 months or so, I've been unable to stop monitoring this board and have always enjoyed the banter. I've got plenty of other irons in the fire and will be looking to slice some profit on some of them as time moves on to build a decent position here, one or two of them hopefully sooner rather than later.

Simon Thompson last produced a Buy recommendation 2 months ago in AugustThis is how it started:
“ Chrome and PGM net earnings up 23 per cent to £20mn on 21 per cent higher revenue of £66.5mn in second half of 2021/22 financial year
Net copper earnings up 30 per cent to £4.2mn on 14 per cent higher output in latest six-month period
Jubilee Metals (JLP: 14.5p), an Aim-traded mining company that makes money by extracting platinum group metals (PGMs) and copper from mine tailings in South Africa and Zambia, is ramping up its copper operations, a key catalyst for material earnings progression in the 2022/23 financial year.

In Zambia, Jubilee increased copper production by 14 per cent to 1,388 tonnes in the six-months to 30 June 2022, generating net revenue per tonne of £6,854, well above the unit operating cost of £3,796 per tonne. Net copper earnings increased 30 per cent to £4.2mn on the previous half-year. Even at the current lower spot copper price of $8,100 (£6,639) per tonne, Jubilee’s copper operation is hugely profitable.”
And this was his conclusion:
“ On this basis, the £375mn market capitalisation company is priced on around five times cash profit and eight times post-tax earnings for the next 12 months, a rating that supports my revised 22p target price. So, having initiated coverage on the shares at 15.8p (Alpha Research: ‘A copper bottomed investment for the mining bull market’, 26 April 2021) and repeated that advice at the same price (‘Copper bottomed investment', 8 February 2022), I maintain a positive stance. Buy.”

I don't know what's driven the share price up today, can't believe it's just off the back of the Sunday roast...hopefully it's more to do with tomorrow's news...

Took a starter position here today after being out since the spike last year. Looks like a no brainer to me given what is now known, and will add as and when funds become available.
