Sable is massive, I'm sure Glencore are keeping a very close eye considering the Zambia new levies and the political dilemma of cobalt in the DRC

Aces, sceptical? Surely not? If you focus on leagacy issues, then Aces can argue the case as well as anyone. But for me the company dynanmic has changed – Colin has very little input in the business now and it's very clear that Leon is driving this. Is Leon perfect? Certainly not. Has he made outstanding progress? I would say so. Is there more to come? I think so.

AcesHi, I don’t know why but I wonder if you’re a bit sceptical? Let’s see what the next update brings!

Exactly why the market remains sceptical.Since day one it's been smoke and mirrors with the figures and CB droning on about delivering truck loads of "jam tomorrow" Which has essentially translated into him regularly rolling out the Canon to fund a steady stream of "deals a lifetime" that have mostly faded into obscurity or become a shadow of their originally, peddled, self. How's Sable coming along? Think any of us will live long enough to witness a taxable, audited, profit from the mythical Zambian Giant?

It looks to me that come next year JM should have a free cashflow of 20m p.a. If all the BOD did was to reinvest the annual cash on a 20% yield for 10 years this would lead to a compounded annual cash flow of 500m and a profit of 100m+ per annum. Put that on a 10 P/E and JM would have a Mcap of 1bn.
Sounds easy but keeping repeating such growth without getting overconfident and going off piste is the hard part. I have seen several situations like this in the past blow up for no good reason.
All that's required now is a steady hand. The opportunities seem boundless but we should not try to dance at every wedding. Hopefully Jm will keep its cool and we will grow steadily and successfully within our paper.

A couple of points -

The Shard note gives the net price and production cost for PGM's in H2. Adding them together gives the ASP. Taking Bullster's figures for the start and end of the half the actual figure falls almost exactly at the mid point thus validating his figures.
Shard go on to give the present figure which works out at $1814/oz. I think they must be a bit behind the curve there.

Secondly this on chrome -

. Project earnings include project expenditure on plant and equipment as well as negative stock value adjustments for FY2019 applying metal prices as at the end of FY2019

This might explain some of the differences in the figures. When you put material into stock it's added at either the production cost or the prevailing material selling price. The negative stock valuation adjustment implies the production costs for stock were above the year end selling price. That would have resulted in a loss on the stock being accounted for in the results.

Leon doing more PR than I can shake a stick at. I wonder why that might be with all those deals on the table.

It would make MM @ WRES blush.

"Due to the drastic reduction in vanadium prices, the implementation schedule for the vanadium circuit is under review. Further clarity expected during Q1 2020"

Thought they would and posted such :-)

Bullster "... looks like you've got to grips..... it's about time JLP gave us straight figures rather than jumping from one currency to another and, other criteria"

Couldn't agree more :-)

kenny "...Leon and Colin are incapable of providing the market what it needs ... clarity"

Couldn't agree more :-)

IMO, JLP will struggle to realise a share price that reflects its huge potential, until the company recruits a fully qualified FD, and audited accounts. Leon claims aspirations of becoming a mid cap company. Time he got round to doing the things necessary to start the ball rolling correctly.
