24/2/2022 17:27 | What I've been hearing is: 1. Putin wants to defeat Ukrainian military, to show how easily Russia is able to do so. 2. Ukrainian president to guarantee Russia that they'll never join NATO or the EU. 3. Separatists/Russia take over the whole of the Donbass. | loganair

24/2/2022 15:16 | See that their Russian director has just stepped down. | topvest
24/2/2022 15:15 | They are actually now on a 14% prospective yield if you are prepared to look past the current situation. Of course, that may well get downgraded given the current geopolitical situation. I still think Putin will only go for another annexation of the Donbas region. Anything else would be very unpleasant for Putin as Ukraine have a sizable army. | topvest
24/2/2022 14:41 | JRS seems to be holding up better than other Russian stocks. | loganair
24/2/2022 13:52 | I hope people have sold off. It's never good seeing your money half and in this case especially those people who bought in at 5.90 before the small pre sell off rally. | jfinvestments
24/2/2022 12:53 | Blimey - down c50% from the all time high just 4 months ago. | topvest

23/2/2022 18:25 | Just like Germany in 1914 - surrounded by Britain, France, Italy and Russia. | loganair
23/2/2022 18:03 | Putin boxed in, 1994 I thought the deal was no nato near Russia, borders, now surrounded by NATO apart from Urkaine. His boxed in, what's his going to do to save face? The West talking amongst themselves not to Putin. | montyhedge
23/2/2022 17:07 | Putin is a chess grandmaster, in the top 50 chess players in Russia. What do I think may happen next? Especially as the Ukraine Government say they will not fire on Russian troops unless they actually cross over the DNR/LNR line into other parts of the Ukraine. Russian so called peace keepers go as far as Donetsk and Lugansk thereby freeing up separatist soldiers to take the rest of the Donbass they do not hold. | loganair
23/2/2022 16:23 | Interesting - it doesn't sound correct though. Maybe Saxo Bank are making up their own rules! | topvest
23/2/2022 16:08 | Just received an email from Saxo Bank Re my holding in JRS. Basically saying I'm not allowed to buy any more but I can sell if I want to. They can't guarantee the ability to maintain positions or provide market access due to the possibility of further sanctions. | brownmruk
23/2/2022 12:47 | An interesting read. One gets the feeling that Putin is always one step ahead of Europe. He may be a ruthless individual, but he's smart. | topvest
23/2/2022 07:13 | Useful detailing of the numbers re Russian energy exports to Europe etc in here arguing that sanctions have a long way to go to be effective (and that they won t hurt Russia until they hurt everyone else) | smidge21
22/2/2022 19:48 | In the meantime, Russian oil and gas companies will be making bumper profits...at the Western world's expense. Sanctions are more likely to hurt the West than Russia in my view, but it makes the politician's feel powerful. | topvest
22/2/2022 19:45 | The problem with the West is that they don't listen to Russia. It's pretty clear what Putin wants and hopefully it will end with the annexation. I think the West are getting a tad hysterical which is quite dangerous. Both sides need to sit down and talk as Russia are a very dangerous enemy. Biden has not been helpful at all. I do wonder whether Trump would have actually done better with Putin in the current situation! | topvest
22/2/2022 16:44 | There seems to me to be very little difference between the separatist areas of the Donbass and Kosovo. It's just that the first is receognised by Russia while the latter, Kosovo is recognised by the West. Therefore it seems to me that the West is being two faced in all this. | loganair
22/2/2022 15:48 | It may be premature, but is the worst mow priced in? | aurelius5
22/2/2022 15:30 | Crafty Germans it just been put on ice, not abandoned. | montyhedge
22/2/2022 13:38 | Well from what I can see they have sanctioned 3 Russian businessmen who have no direct business interests, residency or connections in the UK, so that's clearly just a pointless political statement and nothing else. | my retirement fund
22/2/2022 12:21 | It would not surprise me that all the major players in the West knew exactly what was and is going to happen and behind the scenes there has been full agreement between the West and Russia about the whole thing. | loganair |
