Surely this recent strength has to be a survival of the fittest play.

The danger is lack of forward visibility?
Lots of people kicked the can down the road but only parts of Greece left for holidays. Half term will not happen and the wage bill will soon increase.
If it gets near to 800 p it should pull back. It’s not worth half it’s peak value . Is it??

Prospects growing for airport testing

Saw a comment on Pistonheads the other day that now is the ideal time for someone to begin planning a new travel company - hordes of human and physical assets going for a song.

A;lso saw this morning Wizz (one of the less encumbered operators) Sept figures are down 60% year on year (capacity down 40% compounded with load factor down 30%).

Csmwssk, no idea how you have come to this conclusion of a takeover and what do you mean relating to Jet2 running profitability?

Had I invested in a absolute return credit fund I would not have expected this kind of short.

anyway..I don' t have a crystal ball..but looks like the position was taken on the 30th which would suggest around the levels of 640..maybe..so it's not looking great of the bat ..approx 700k down already

Not a bad shout imo. The company will likely be looking for cash by April and its also looking more and more likely that summer 21 will be another huge loss making period. In total that would be 5 loss making holiday periods in a row. Winter 19,summer 20, winter 20, summer 21 and winter 21 all loss making. Jet2 WILL need more cash at somepoint, the current £1.3B mrkt cap is not justifiable.

14 days quarantine in Bangkok if you want to play golf in thailand with 3 tests. Also u have to have had a negative test three days prior to travel. However, I'm told that this can be waived and all clear signed off for a 20k baht commission. Dont you love asia

There may become a point that the rate of infections is so high in the UK that restrictions are put on UK travellers by the holiday destinations.

There is little incentive for the UK government to encourage travel abroad as a lot of the money saved on holidays is being spent in the UK. Tradesmen around here are saying they have never been so busy fitting bathrooms, kitchens and building extensions etc

I really want to buy some jet2 but waiting for a lower price in anticipation of a wider market fall.
