I understood that liquids were being sold already. But my wife's had me painting the ceiling and it stretches both my credulity and my neck.

Feedback from the AGM was that, if all goes to plan, gas sales would take less than a month, but of course the priority is safety first. I didn’t ask whether, once sales start, it would take time (and if so, how long) to build up to full capacity.

Paduardo - There is a slide on page 15 of the April 29th presentation which implies about a month between mechanical completion and gas sales. Clearly this was just a graphical representation and I wouldn't put too much value on it but if they expected only a minimal gap I think they would have shown that. I guess there may be sales of liquids etc before then.

With both the oil price settling at around $85 and Akatara about to start commercial gas sales, July should see some improvement in the share price imo.

Does anybody have any thoughts as to how long it will take Akatara to ramp up / achieve commercial gas sales? I have been looking online and cant find any information about how long this might typically take. Has PB ever discussed this or has IT been included in a presentation or RNS - I have had a look but could not find any reference.

Going well.

Maybe my 40p forecast for end of 2023 needs to be end of 2024.

What a difference 6 months of stable(ish) production, stable oil prices and Akatara completion has made.

year end 2023 - 36.5p

The Montara effect.

Like most on the Asia Met thread have B750 on filter - it's the third time he has returned to the thread with a different alias over the last year.

Valeura Energy - The RNS today highlights the importance of carrying out in-water surveys in lieu of dry dockings, at intervals as laid down by the regulations for floating and fixed structures located in offshore O&G fields.

RNS - Precautionary Suspension of Wassana Production - June 27, 2024

'Valeura Energy announces the suspension of production at its 100% owned Wassana field, offshore Gulf of Thailand.

During a scheduled underwater inspection of the field’s production facility, the mobile offshore production unit Ingenium (the “MOPU”), a crack was identified within one of the MOPU’s steel jack-up legs. The Company believes such an anomaly may potentially pose a risk to the structural integrity of the MOPU.

Out of the abundance of caution, and in keeping with its strict standards for safety, the Company has chosen to suspend production operations at the Wassana field while further inspection and analysis is conducted.

Valeura stresses that there has been no incident in relation to this development, and hence no adverse impact to people or the environment.

Valeura is working with a team of internal and external experts to define the optimal course of action and will provide an update in due course, including by way of a Q2 2024 operations update, which it intends to announce within the second week of July 2024.'

Suspect they may have found a small crack between the tubular members of the leg structure.......something that should have a relatively low occurence risk, when considering the Gulf of Thailand has mostly benign year round sea and weather conditions.

I don't think there are many shareholders who share that view. JSE have him on the payroll so not surprised he is laying it on a bit thick. Blakeley has a very elevated opinion of his own abilities. He is very fortunate to still be in place here after debacle after debacle.

A rather sycophantic assessment from Malcy, or is that too harsh?

Head of the SKK Migas Program and Communications Division, Hudi D. Suryodipuro, said that the completion of the construction of the Akatara gas facility is believed to be able to increase national gas production.

“The Akatara gas facility is certainly very helpful, distributing gas, so that gas commercialization can make a significant contribution to the country,” said Hudi.

According to Hudi, SKK Migas will continue to encourage KKKS, including Jadestone Energy (Lemang) Pte. Ltd., is not only building commercial gas facilities but also expanding exploration into new areas in Jambi province.
