27/7/2021 19:08 | Just up to 98,859 on the ADR count this evening. The largest volume since the end of June and the night before the record interims !!! Doesn't mean much, so we are kept on being told :) | ivanborsky
27/7/2021 18:37 | REACH up loads of half year results. So I guess advertising revenue is doing well. | netcurtains
27/7/2021 18:12 | Nige...almost every share in my portfolio was down today, that is par for the course. When there is fear in the markets you get low volumes and mark downs. Very low volume to the close and then several million after the bell. I hope we get some cheer tomorrow, I don't expect miracles but some news and numbers that give us longs some cheer. GOOD LUCK ALL! | slater5
27/7/2021 17:33 | The FTSE100 index closed down 0.42% ITV closed down 1.57%. It's ridiculous that ITV always gets punished more than most other companies. ITV makes good profits NO losses, cuts debt and gets treated like this, in almost every down day. It stinks to be fair. Let's see what games we have in store for tomorrow results. | nige co
27/7/2021 15:10 | Largest volume of ADR's traded over the pond in 19 trading days, and we're only 40 minutes in to trading ahead of H1 results tomorrow. | nige co
27/7/2021 14:48 | you mean you're not tempted by tesla at 1000 times earnings? | stansmith3
27/7/2021 14:45 | In many years UK markets have always trailed the USA, we don't have 401k's here which bolsters US indicies a lot. Don't forget that they are printing $$$$$$ like there's no tomorrow. The current UK market is bombed out, it resembles the 70's when nobody was interested in UK companies. Great companies, household names could be picked up for pennies. I am not saying get out there and buy everything, but it seems to me ITV and several other FTSE 100 companies are grossly undervalued. You have to look at it as bargain time, everything has gone up in price except the UK markets. IMO it's a no brainer, I am a buyer. | slater5
27/7/2021 11:39 | Pmsl nige you do know why the stock market was created don’t you! | 123trev
27/7/2021 11:23 | nigeno reason anything will change with regards the ftse...so no real reason to invest in a tracker for exampleusa goes from strength to strength, the continued money pouring in from around the world just lets them continue to disrupt those very country's markets and send yet more money back to americashops going/gone, local newspapers/add gone etc etc | stansmith3
27/7/2021 10:57 | Stan, if the next 20 years are as bad as the last 20, ie the FTSE100 going nowhere I will be probably dead by then. Just looking at the FTSE100 today, it has recovered almost two thirds of todays losses yet ITV hasn't recovered by the same amount. This is always the same. We need good results tomorrow or we could be looking at 110p. | nige co
27/7/2021 08:40 | Why the market down today? FTSE100 down 90 pts. ITV down 2.65p. Cannot keep blaming Covid. 6 days of falling infections and still the market goes down. FTSE100 gone nowhere in 20 years while the DOW has more than trebled, closed yesterday at a new high. It stinks. | nige co
27/7/2021 00:02 | stockyour glasses are certainly tinted, does that mean we can discount what you say?you have a go at the ceo, few companies have exceptional ceos, being a ceo is no different from anything else and you will find the same bell curve applies to themthis board is largely bullish, thats not unusual for a advfn board, so you are not bringing anything new here eitherfwiw, i think britbox and what3words are a waste of time, but they needed to try their own paid for streaming service and it could yet come to something, loses are manageable just now | stansmith3
26/7/2021 22:57 | Bobd Good to see someone actually talking some sense without a tinted glass on GLA | stockready
26/7/2021 15:33 | I look at ITV's position today as a partial recovery from last year's doomsday. In August you could have bought for 53p. If memory serves me right there were plenty of buyers then and since then. Their high in December 2019 was around the 160p mark, we are a bit short of that mark, but if the numbers on Wednesday are good and the report matches, they will put on a few pence. Anything less than that and we could be down visiting the 100p mark. I can't remember the last time ITV came up with great numbers so I won't be holding my breath. | bobdiamond1
26/7/2021 14:36 | Clearly someone is seeing good value at 120p :) | waspfactory
26/7/2021 14:22 | Its been a while since we've seen any decent sized trades, its just been GS doing the order book rotation thing for the last few weeks but a trade of 1,431,877 @ 120.75 went through at 13:16 today. Roll on Wednesday !! | ivanborsky
26/7/2021 13:44 | Slater You have a wired way of NOT able to read what I wrote and like many here seems like to block out the realities I did say to Royston it is good he has a low avarage and he is in profit but being in profit from very low average doesn't mean we can't get to 56p again so perhaps people with this sort of profits should seriously think about exit strategies properly I am not suggesting they should sell but I am suggesting to think seriously how this will pan out in the next 12 months or so and potential profit (now) and turn to losses very quickly indeed I have seen it times and times again Staying long here will get you no where but the bottom. City will not touch this and no one else for that matter I am sorry to be blunt but there is nothing to be gain here under current management Sadly they lost loads of chances and chances which will never be repeated again. ITV will be under 100 by this year end and go further down before take over happen very cheap under 50p. IMHO DYOR GLA | stockready
26/7/2021 13:22 | "Hopefully the City will start noticing that it has many good things still going for it." Too true Slater, like being able to charge £750k for a 30 second advert. Kerching! | nige co
26/7/2021 11:14 | stockready..you have weird way of answering a post. royston6 posted he had bought ITV at 56p and added. Not a bad gain! Well, at 56p to this morning's 121.50p doesn't seem half bad to me. I have read your recent posts and you remind me of that old guy Harry Enfield used to do, you know that annoying little know all who used to pop up saying 'don't do it like that, do it like this'.... Your investing tips are almost the opposite to the way Buffett became a billionaire. Royston6, good luck on your ITV holdings, my feeling is that 'stockready' is praying for a lousy report on wednesday so he can come and tell us he was right and we should all 'not do it like that, do it like this'. My advice is stay long whatever happens on Wednesday, ITV have been bashed from all directions and sadly forgotten about. Hopefully the City will start noticing that it has many good things still going for it. | slater5
26/7/2021 08:17 | Stockready, you sound like a bitter disgruntled ex ITV shareholder who's trying to justify your selling of your ITV holding. At times I share your frustration but I intend holding for the recovery in the share price. | nige co
26/7/2021 08:07 | ITV did well to sell South Bank for housing pre-covid. shrewd market move. | netcurtains
26/7/2021 08:03 | should never have sold the south bank .that money has gone on renting the bbc studios. | cboney
26/7/2021 08:03 | ???? Sorry all sounds a bit crack pot. But good luck stockready. | netcurtains |
