Crikey this board looks really sad.
What happened to all the 140’s?
On results day remember it hit 124p. That was less than 2days ago. Put back the big smile.

You have a very good ITV entry point Stan, I also own BT so I'm feeling beaten up today. I'm not too worried with BT, in for the long haul until 2025 at least I think, or a share price of 300p I will reassess.

nige, absolutely no ideai did catch the first rise from about 60-90, sold at the top but bought back at 80, it then fell to an intraday of about 48, i think i bought most of the shares i currently have between 52 and 58 -i switched a chunk into bt around the time of the budget which was a great movei actually bought some yesterday on the drop at 116 with some bt proceeds, but switched back again today, unfortunately..so yeah, my biggest two holdings by a huge amount and i switch them around quite frequently lolportfolio has been absolutely hammered last few days, concentrated holdings great when things are going well...

I think that I've read somewhere that most exiting FTSE100 companies outperform when they enter the FTSE250.

"id need to check but didnt itvs rise kick in when it hit the ftse 250 and the fall when it left?"

I would say that yes, ITV did far better when in the FTSE250 than in the FTSE100. Although, it must be said it had had a good run while in the FTSE250, so chances are it was due a pull back that coincided re joining the FTSE100.

thanks, but i think the problem with even getting a ballpark figure is knowing the number and value of the trackers out thereconventional wisdom is that there will be more demand from ftse 100 trackers, but that is not necessarily the casethrow in also that itv is a bit of an edge case. id need to check but didnt itvs rise kick in when it hit the ftse 250 and the fall when it left?

Just bear in mind Stan the date of the update at the top of the list. Obviously company valuations change daily. The website doesn't.

although impossible to remotely solve unless you know how many ftse 100/250 trackers and their size...interesting to note that it has suffered from the step up, albeit quite possibly coincidently

nigeits all been downhill since the reshufflewould be interesting to know the net positioning required for itv as the largest constituent of the ftse 250 versus the smallest consituent of the ftse 100

Stan, yes you are quite right regarding talpa payment of £256m.

Stag, to be honest I'm not sure about management anymore, I thought that McCall was a good appointment at the time. I will hold on and hope for the best regarding a takeover bid. When you have analyst that begrudgingly admit that ITV had a good H1, but then they say let's see if they can continue it in H2? So when you're up against this negativity ITV are never going to be able please them.

Stag, do you think that maybe the BOD are attempting to make ITV more attractive to a potential predator?

Nige...It is possible, but if it were true, they haven't a clue how to raise the game. It is a certainty that there are people looking at ITV, but like most of the big players they want it at their price and without inheriting any of the damp squibs on the present board.

I think that someone like Amazon or Disney are prime movers here, but I would rather see the share price start to perform first, very sad that with a really sparkling H1 report and in this market, ITV should be 140p, not 113p. On that point I agree with Slater, they haven't a clue how to get that share price up. McCall hasn't been able to do what she did at Easyjet and it's my guess her hands are tied.

nigeyoure right it is 467m today, but they need to pay talpa 256m from cash imminently

I am long here, the H1 was ok, could have been better presented. I don't like the way they stopped paying a dividend and now after pulling in a lot of extra revenue didn't pass a little of that on to shareholders in the form of a special dividend.

They could have easily done that and at least made some sort of announcement saying, look here at how good we have done, like US companies do all the time, damn well boost their performance. But no, just a banal run of the mill statement, bloody boring and without a 3p divi boost the BOD have once again proven they are all but useless.

What with letting Piers Morgan go and looking like a load of amateurs, I am beginning to think that ITV are ready for Room 101.

Stag, do you think that maybe the BOD are attempting to make ITV more attractive to a potential predator? By not paying a dividend and holding on to the cash by cutting debt from (£783m 2020) to £467m 2021 down £316m. Plus cash in the bank of £704m. Asset strippers love cash in the bank. ITV are in a far better shape now than before the pandemic IMO.
