How does RCH have a PE of anything? It has no earnings.

The issue with PE is that it is trailing - try forward PE

While I agree that April's prospects are fair to mention, they should also have mentioned that it was against a poor month. Still, obvious to any investor and we'll shortly get the market's opinion.

Can buy RCH on PE of 5 or ITV on PE of 10. Have both :)

They did throw in a "better than expected" so one assumes they are OK and they expect 2021 to be great provided covid vaccines work OK.

Good growth and profits going forward if vaccines work.

Poikka, I think what we have to understand here is thattoday was always about ITV drawing a line in the sand as it were. We knew these numbers were going to be poor, hence why no bank made any predictions and hence no market commentary in the press over the weekend. They'll all appear out from the woodwork though today and tomorrow. Debt was key for me as many companies have gone to their shareholders to raise additional capital to service debt during this pandemic but not ITV. I think they've run a pretty tight ship all things considered.

ITV, a media group, posted full-year adjusted EPS declined 22% over year to 10.9 pence on advertising revenue of 1.58 billion pounds, down 11%. The company said advertising market trends are improving with advertising revenue expected to be up around 8% in March, and expected to be up between 60% and 75% in April.

Sadly that is probably as far a view as they have on advertising spend.
you can only report what you can see.

morning all, interesting numbers. Not good but not as bad as some thought.with hindsight, I was wrong to sell at around 100p, but well done to those who held.

Ivan - "but advertising outlook looking good with 60-75% + in April alone."

That was against a very poor month and it's not a good sign when they flagged that month as being a positive.

But the debt goes up when they finally have to pay their VAT, right?

No dividend

hard to tell how these will be received. No great shock that the numbers stink but the commentary is positive.
debt is in control and the outlook is good.

Numbers out team ! Well on the face of it, they are a lot better than I thought, I was expecting some serious dire numbers but advertising outlook looking good with 60-75% + in April alone. The debt numbers were also impressive, 'Reported net debt of £545m at 31 December 2020 (31 December 2019:£893m), which is unusually low, benefitting from a favourable working capital position, deferred VAT payments and is before earnout payments which we anticipate paying in 2021'. Interesting how the market will play this, remember they don't want big buyers of the stock !!! Lets see how we go.

"You are deluded.
Educated rational people do not make this sort of thing up"

Only deluded person round here is YOU - people don't play the victim card to get sympathy/a payout. Really? There's evidence of such everywhere these days.

Oh good grief..
Are people really that simple to fall for such tripe?

"ITV hoping to replicate CBS’s ratings success with Harry and Meghan interview"

£1m to hear from two attention seeking nitwits who had everything in the world but blew it because they wanted things their way, not the monarchies way.

This pair are bereft of class, one is a woke beta male doing as he is instructed, the other is a b rated celeb that thinks the world owes her.

The Royal Family is well rid of the pair of them.

Boix,
Meghan Markle is crying Wolf to get sympathy you nitwit.
She hasn't an ounce of class whatsoever.
Always knew she'd be trouble.
