Agreed Ivan, do you know if Marshall Wace still have their under water ITV short open? If they do they may well be about to close, depending on the results/forward looking statement.

Anhar, at least Naked Trader has a lot of skin in the game? £150,000. He doesn't normally have that much in one company, so what does Robbie Burns know?

anharexactly what would naked trader know about a bid?nothingitv need a successful subscription channel, then you are talking multiples of the current spbut they are stuck having to put their best stuff on free to air first to chase advertising, if you read through their accounts and strategy over the last ten years they have done really well to get the studios business earning as much as the ads

Nige, I think the whole world and his wife know that the forward statement on Tuesday is going to be huge, lets face it 2021 can't be any worse than 2020!! The real dilemma for the market and GS is, call the stock down and it will attract buyers looking for ITV as a recovery play, as well as possible dividend chasers. Call the stock higher and the subsequent press coverage will be bullish for a change attracting new buyers looking for a holding in the share or buyers returning to ITV after a long absence. Now that GS are now also not actively shorting the stock this can only aid the next move upwards !! Got some cash still looking to top up if there is a small retreat ! Looking good team.

Looking forward to next Tuesdays Annual result, everything depends on the forward looking statement, if favourable we may have a rerating upwards.

I used to keep an eye on Naked Traders trades a few years ago, I noticed then that he used to trade ITV but only in small trades of around 5,000, 10,000. For him to now reveal that he has £150,000 speaks volumes.

I’ve been building a big stake in ITV for a close to a year and including spreadbets I now own a hefty £150,000 having bought some more last week, probably the last lot! The averaging up here has worked nicely. As the price rises the more likely it is any bid will now have to be over the 200p mark. (This is Naked Trader’s comments on ITV in his last post of 4 March 2021)

Interesting comment today from The Naked Trader. He said he has been adding to his ITV holding for the last year; the latest being last week. He also said any takeover bid would have to be over £2. He must be confident about the Results next week.

I thought that it was too good to be true. Not sure it can be blamed on profit takers with 2.7 million buys & 2.9 million sells. Shares down 3.85p. Ridiculous.

Especially as other big firms can managed to run their schemes at a surplus e.g. MRW has achieved a huge pension surplus.

BT's Pension deficit is more than the whole Mkt Cap of ITV.

How the hell are they allowed to run up a pension deficit of £4 billion.

Fingers crossed Nige but plenty of water to flow under the bridge yet especially over the next few days. Tree-shake Friday tomorrow, the numpties at the Sunday Times over the weekend and then numbers next week.

Hasn’t the Renishaw share price been artificially inflated due to being put up for sale. Wouldn’t this exclude it from promotion to the FTSE 100?

Apparently its Renishaw and Weir Grp for the FTSE, ITV has missed out. By default or by design ??? Lets see what tomorrow brings !
