I'm afraid I'm going to join you, it's a bit tiresome. Something I rarely do.

Considering FTSE tanking I think ITV and BT doing remarkably well.

pe of ITV about 6 (average FTSE 100 stock has pe of 22), ITV also has a massive amount of hidden NAV (TV programs are counted as intangibles).

Barnier reported by CNBC to have indicated we are closer to a Brexit deal. That would be one less weight around the neck of UK domestic stocks.

Alex: The way you're talking we need an L.P. Hartley ("the go between"). :-)

ITV is built on novels turned into TV series... You have to understand and appreciate fiction if you want to understand ITV.

If you want to understand if ITV has a hit before it is a hit, you have to know fiction ....
You have to be able to quantify the dream before its turned into a reality

I'd prefer a more reasoned analysis, whether positive or negative. I don't find those type of posts helpful, interesting ... or amusing. I'll let you get back to your Jilly Cooper.

BT appears to be going up towards last week or so before results (touchwood).
If same even happens with ITV we should start to see a rise by end of next week.

alex1621: You obviously are a bad reader. I tend to read a book a week.

If you take the words with wry smile you know "should" is the key word.

we all know that doubling is impossible (no news worthy of such an event or international buyer snapping up stock)... So rather than thinking the writer is "bonkers" the average reader is looking at the words as a wry truth:

"Aye, its worth a lot but not to day".

Try and read a bit more - it helps

"If the market reads the news right it should double today"I'm lost for words, so I used yours. I'm bullish ITV medium to long term, when we start to move out of the Brexit/virus period, but ITV will never double in a day, not even with a bid. I call out the overly gloomy, I'd be a hypocrite not to do likewise with blue sky dreamers.

Netflix Down:
World shortage of good TV PRODUCTION...

ITV has suddenly become a lot more valuable - look at the trouble Netflix is in - it needs more TV prduction...

BRITBOX has access to perhaps the worlds best production: ITV and BBC

If market reads the news right ITV should double today - but I doubt it can add 1+1 = ITV

re: My vitamin D post: The solution probably is not the eradication of the disease via vaccine or track&trace but rather improvements in general health of the population.

If you do more exercise, have a better diet, take vitamin D the odds are, if you get the illness, it will not be so bad compared to someone who has poor diet, does no exercise and lacks vitamin D. Our health is, for the most part, in our own hands - that includes those who are old.

You think that there is a consensus amongst experts? Take a look at the Barrington declaration signed by thousands of medics and scientists, headed by professors from Oxford, Stanford and Harvard who are recognised in their field. Their views are consistent with the ones that I expressed below. Even the WHO have indicated that lockdowns do not offer a solution. So don't try to portray me as an armchair expert, I made the effort to look at what a range of "experts" think. It's easy to agree with lockdowns when it doesn't affect you and doesn't impact you financially. No one on SAGE will go hungry, get into debt, have their business ruined or lose their job. I suspect their advice would be different if any of that applied.
