Ahh the unshakable belief that you only lose if you sell and in the reverse Newtonian law that what goes down must go up.

It does not matter how low your average is, when it goes to 0p you lose 100%. If you can't face losing 50-60% then how would 100% feel.

Yes trawling through the cesspit looking for gems is not that smart, but there are other things you can do with your money, other than punting on being able to guess a future shareprice or tying it up for years hoping that one day you will get your money back with a little bit extra to show for it.

It does all depend on your personal circumstances and what you really want out of your investing to support the lifestyle you want. My views have certainly changed over the years not only on what I have learned, but also on what is most important to me in my life. We are all different in all those respects and need to make our own decisions based on them. I genuinely wish everyone the best of luck with their investing - I have had plenty of luck (good and bad) over the years.

We can all say what we like about all these things on a BB, where nobody knows us from Adam. But we must make sure we don't lie to ourselves about them.

Yes, I also miss the Amer board and all the characters. I never made it to any of the famous "curry nights" but it was almost like a social club with so many interesting and informative long termers on board.

Being honest, I don't think there's any AIM companies which are a "good investment" as such as it's all about entry levels and when you hit the exit door. Personally I've always preferred investing to short term trading, however it's at the stage now (and has been for a number of years) where the ONLY way to make money is to time your sales and purchases well and not be too greedy. That really is the ONLY way to make money it would seem.

For what it's worth, I've managed to get my average down to around 0.70 and may manage a bit lower, Yes, it's a risk, however I do firmly believe that we'll see an share price of at least 0.70 in the near future and it's then that I'll need to make a decision on what the next move is.

I could do as RS often advises and just cut my losses now, however if I was re-evaluating the situation and wondering if at 0.30 there was a major upside, then I think that would have to be seen as a definite which means I'm happy enough to buy at these levels in the knowledge that there's a very good chance of at least doubling my money.

What's done is now done and for those remaining it's all about tempering previous expectations and appreciating the "new norm" as it were, if you can do that, remain disciplined (which isn't always easy), then there's definitely money to be made here from these lowly levels...

Final one, al101uk 7th April 2017:

"I think GC might have done a good job or might not. In fact I have no idea, because he doesn't give out enough information for people to make the decision and the company has a mail address for investors that is like a black hole for unfortunate passing space ships.
Is everything GC's fault, almost certainly not, but the similarities between here, KENV and IRON are a little too numerous to be considered co-incidental and he is the common factor.
Being kept in the dark while you see the people running your company pocketing millions is galling in the extreme."

Long, but hopefully entertaining for some :-)

On the one hand, you kind of have to sympathise with RJ, but then he puts out this paragraph:

"The events of the past 6 weeks have however cast a glaring light on just how little accountability AIM Boards actually have to shareholders, how their democratic voting rights can be ridden roughshod over and frankly ignored through holes in regulation, how shareholders money can, incredibly, be used against them to protect a BoD’s own position and how little recourse there really is in addressing this situation. All these matters require wider reflection by the regulators and authorities going forward. Hopefully this occurs."

How long has RJ been investing in AIM companies? How much research did he do on GC? I could have told him how this was going to go over decade ago!

GC has been ignoring shareholders and doing what he wants for as long as I've been involved with his companies, anyone sinking the kind of sums Align and Co have sunk in to him should have been well aware of that... RJ apparently frequents advfn... he only needed to look at the AMER thread, it could have saved him a lot of time, hassle & money.

"I'll be sticking around here until the death and probably hang around the IRON thread too (I'm obsessed with GC). All from the sidelines... I have no intention of ever getting involved with this group of crooks ever again!"

"Amer and Geo negotiated the process under the codename "Project Atherton".
In 1994 Atherton was accused of cheating/ball tampering while Captaining England in a Test match. He admitted keeping dirt in his pocket and rubbing it on the ball.
The choice of name for this 'project' based on someone remembered for accusations of cheating seems somewhat prophetic.
Was this choice a brazen 2 fingers to the shareholders?"

Nail on head I'd say from both Dave and ACE.

From a shareholders perspective I can only take positives from today's actions as it more or less takes RJ and lots of the uncertainty out of the equation.

There's a long way to go of course but at least one of the distractions has now been removed...

So the shareholders' crusader has fallen on his sword (sort of).
I suppose if he'd thought it through, he would have realised he was unlikely to have succeeded in his bid to have GC & ME removed.
All he has succeeded in doing, in my opinion, is crashing the share price. He disputes this but he is, at least, largely responsible.
And now his thinking seems more muddled than ever.
Despite withdrawing his call for a GM, he still wants us to vote for his resolution.
He says he has no confidence in the BoD, yet is retaining his shares.
I was prepared to give him credit for taking a stand but he lost all credibility in my eyes with his recent Twitter outbursts and name calling.
Surprisingly little comment here on today's news, considering the volume of opinion up to this point.
The sooner this farce is put to bed, the better.

Align statement

It is not usually a good idea to go to war without a plan for battle - this retreat (much to my great sadness) is more childish than anything. I wish Align well with Kazera but on this performance there can be no expectation.

I think that's pretty unlikely to be honest. Legal proceedings would cost lots of money, be very time-consuming, would have a very uncertain outcome and there would be uncertainty as to whether the defendant would be able to pay any damages which may be awarded.

I think you're missing the point. Rightly or wrongly GC is basically blaming the low ball placing and the warrants that you mention as a direct result of RJ's requisition notice and accompanying Twitter rants which caused the share price to crash from 0.70 to 0.30.

GC's case to shareholders is that the placing, while still required and while still discounted, would have been at a much higher price and the associated warrants may also not have been required, as such he is completely placing the blame 100% at RJ's door for approaching this in the manner that he did.

We'll probably never know the truth, however the way it's all playing out makes RJ look like he's gambled big and lost big and unfortunately he's used all us shareholders as collateral damage in the process.

I'm not going to debate whether his intentions were indeed admirable or not as that's not really relevant, all that is relevant is that without question his Twitter rants, accusations and threats have got us to where we're now at and for that he simply can't be forgiven.....

It is interesting how some of the same people seem to be into every scam and dodgy company. Some are clearly clueless marks whereas others are trying to exploit the clueless marks, some quite cleverly and others cluelessly.

At least for the most part we do have adult discussion on this thread even if it is a bit too long for some to read. DFSs and CPRs are long old documents (if they ever get published and not just the edited highlights RNSed), however the information (especially the bits that would not make it into an RNS because the company does not really want everyone to know it), which still needs to be critically analysed (the consultants that produce them are paid to do so by the company), is invaluable for enabling proper investing decisions. So it is worth developing the ability to read something longer than a tweet.

Dmitry Sushov resigned from the EUA board a couple of years ago and now has removed every link between himself and EUA from his professional history. It is as if he never was there. EUA is utterly valueless. It’s major potential resource Does not even have a DFS.

Why would Glencore want a poxy little 7.5MW smelter fed from an unreliable grid when it has more than enough facilities of its own, no doubt with their own power generation? If it is the resource they want, why did they not set up a DOS operation after they had the bulk sample - processed in their own facility?

Do those suggesting the Chinese might buy it have the first idea how Chinese foreign investments get approved in China?

White lies and extra bits or uncomfortable truths you don't want to hear? What is the motivation of someone who has piled in time and time again only to see the situation get worse and worse for not wanting uncomfortable truths discussed? What is the motivation for just plucking optimisitc possibilities out of thin air and posting them? Especially from someone who does not really care what happens as he is just enjoying the ride.

No doubt I will be filtered agan and then miraculously unfiltered, probably with another gruding admission that I called it right, yet again. Keep up the entertainment - I'm lovin it.
