owenga, the last update was hardly wishy washy and I agree with hammerd that they won't say anything about EPS. I'm hoping for a "significantly beat analyst estimates", or something like, "current estimates are out of date and we'll be working with the analysts to update them".

Expectations for 10p EPS for 2018 at this stage will probably lead to dissapointment on Tuesday. If we get 2017 forecast EPS of 4p and 2018 EPS of 6p that would imply growth of 57% (using Stockopedia figures for 2016) and 50% respectively and would warrant a PER of around 40 - 50 implying a share price of between £2.40 and £3.00 with further upgrades for 2018 to come.

Those figures are all the reasons you need to be currently invested, any 2018 forecasts of greater than 6p would imply that we really are at the races.

I can't remember the company ever issuing any projected EPS estimates in the past, but maybe I missed them, so not sure why they would start now. I thought those sorts of things were left to the analyst community to make up.

Sheep herder, I'm sitting tight until after results, but I do have a concern there will be further wish washy words which will all be positive but without anything concrete towards estimates for second half 17 eps or 2018 eps. I hope I'm wrong but if that is the case then we are likely to see a drop in share price after announcement. I'm hoping for 5p eps 2017 and 10p eps 2018. Hopefully that is not too much to ask! GLA long term investors. Keep up the good work sweenoid and others on the info front.

I don't know how the Xperia 3d camera works but Sony previously announced a ToF system. It is probably a different system since the acquisition time appears to be fairly long. A quote from the above article:

"Sony’s trick is to create a 3D scanner that is astoundingly accurate and detailed, truly professional level stuff done with just the regular hardware of your Android smartphone"

MM's are playing with this share. They look stuck between what could come out as good news on the 5th and what they could to "engineer" to sink it. But nothing can change the growth story of IQE when one looks at 3 to 5 year period.

Seems strange to me to sell out before the results given that it's not the results we're waiting for. It's not like a traditional earnings call where you might be expecting a slight pull back if they miss their guided earnings.

We know that the half year results aren't going to surprise us. What we're hoping for is good forward looking statements detailing how quickly they're going to be using up their available capacity. Can they guide us on whether 2018 EPS is going to be at the low end of 6-8p or will accelerate quickly towards the 10-12p area.

"Out until results"Usually expectation drifts the share price up into them - at least sell on Monday just before if that's your approach
