Pure play foundries in Taiwan are on course for strongest growth since 2014 ( 19% ), this driven by the uptake of 5g , and are expected to ship 200m 5g smartphones as opposed to 20m last year . Seems that IQE are now in the right place to take advantage of the vast increase in business now being generated by the adoption of the interconnected world

I have bought heavily at 22, 26 and 28 and many levels in 30s, 40s and kost recently at 53. I believe when trading is clear for H2 it will show they are currently undervalued based on the growth it will prove. I may be wrong, but I expect over £1 by March, perhaps much sooner. 2021 and 2022 could be much fun, I dont see risk so I am very happy with work from home trade on IQE.All just my views,

crosswires - agreed. Management has much to prove here still. And until it comes up trumps CONSISTENTLY, I'd rather risk losing out than losing more. Savvy investor - Not sure why you'd regret failing to buy at 80p?. Even with the worst possible timing, you could have got in well below that level ANY DAY OVER THE PAST YEAR! IMHO, the share price is highly unlikely to rise dramatically before December. And even if it re-rates then, global markets look set for a continued correction in the interim. IQE won't be immune to this, so it'll be re-rating from a lower starting point (probably no higher than today's price - and possibly significantly lower). Personally, I doubt we'll see 80p levels until well into 2021 at the earliest. But nobody knows for sure. Otherwise we'd already be sunning ourselves on our own private tropical islands!

Savvy yes of course ir’s just my view, there would be something odd if I posted someone else’s ;) Sadly I think without any news from IQE pre Dec update the market and general world sentiment will lead most stocks without earnings news to drive them. I’m not saying they will end up in the 30s but that is where i’d buy more as I already have plenty for now.

Or regret not doing it at 80p. Nobody knows for certain, naked your own view up. I saw what happened during the lock down and the work from home non touch world plays into IQE business perfectly, let's see heh...

The time to buy more will be at 30p not 50p. I’m happy to buy big again down there, suspect there will be some bargains in the next few months

Yep The only suitable alternative is the Freestyle Libre, but it’s availability is severely limited on the NHS ( usually only for very ‘brittle’; diabetics) and it’s very expensive.

As an insulin dependant diabetic (secondary pancreatic diabetes) believe me these things will fly off the shelves. Having to remember to test every 2 hours when driving (its the law) for a living is a nightmare and also worrying as you will lose your licence. Hypo warnings and average readings etc etc brilliant!! invaluable!! My consultant would also be very pleased if I improve my tests ;) But seriously a gadget like this if done properly would be 'priceless' and save the NHS millions too and improve the lives of sooo many.

Just reporting 😉In the recent IQE results presentation and audio The CEO made much of the success IQE were having in the high speed data com market, particularly in the use of its 10 and 25G distributed feedback lasers and 10 and 25G APDs- avalanche photodiodes. These are of course mainly used in data centres and in intra data centre use. The CEO also comments on the use of IQE’s nano imprint lithography Our main conduit to market for those products is via Macom ( along with products for RF base stations) 1 fairly recent ( March) announcement and 1 announcement last week of Macom products that will contain ‘our stuff’ ( IMHO&DYOR) hTtps://www.macom.com/about/news-and-events/press-release-archive/row-col1/news--event-archive/macom-announces-25g-apd-photodio And hTtps://www.macom.com/about/news-and-events/press-release-archive/row-col1/news--event-archive/macom-announces-new-portfolio--1 Yes demicauk- it’s Apple I was alluding to when mentioning monitoring blood glucose, it’s proving a difficult problem but the market is huge and IF IQE could be part of the solution big money is to be made, although primarily no doubt most of that will fall into Apples lap 🤔 S

....and of course Dave... announced this week and available to buy from today is the new Apple Watch series 6 which contains a blood oxygen sensor ranging from £379 to about £700-£800 ......well worth a watch of the announcement made on Tuesday on the Apple website if anybody hasn't seen it.....I think they even mention monitoring for early signs of Influenza and Covid-19 being possible in the future....something they are currently working on....... Just saying Yet another Interesting new news release from important customer AMS, following news that BOLED ( behind OLED screen VCSELS) is advancing hTtps://ams.com/-/as7038rb-blood-oxygen-sensor If you again listen to the earnings CC audio , Drew Nelson says this “we are seeing exciting opportunities for HEALTH MONITORING In wearables, using infrared lasers for non- invasive analysis of blood, he mentions glucose specifically, but oxygen would actually be an easier measurement, this sensor from AMS specifically uses infrared laser diodes, 😁. Of course if they can ( they will) be able to measure glucose levels that would be the ‘holy grail’ for wearable monitoring. Will look forward to this hTtps://ams.com/webinar-1d-tof-arrows-world-of-industry-4.0?event=Webinar%3A%20ams%27%201D%20Time-of-Flight%20sensors%20at%20Arrow%27s%20World%20of%20Industry%204.0 TOF is a MASSIVE market for IQE, not only for computational photography in smartphones, but also multiple applications elsewhere, as AMS note here, “Customers are in a never-ending race to deliver better products and experiences. And as part of this, 1D ToF sensors are becoming increasingly important in the mobile, consumer, wearables, PC and industrial segments. These new sensors are being designed into a wide array of industrial applications for object detection, collision avoidance, human presence detection, gesture recognition, inventory management TO NAME A FEW” You will see they make special reference to AVALANCHE PHOTODETECTORS, which of course also signalled as an important revenue driver in the conference call “ams’ (ToF) sensor products are highly-integrated modules which includes a class 1 eye-safe 940nm Vertical Cavity Surface Emitting Laser (VCSEL), Single Photon Avalanche Diode (SPAD) array,” Have a peaceful weekend S

Bocase Very true but do you not feel that IQE is now on a more stable footing and is moving in exactly that direction? Clearly the SHORTERS do as they would not be closing their positions.

All true Aphro, but what it really needs is to deliver profits in excess of expectations and consistently.

paraone3 - agreed. In my opinion, it should simply be illegal for any Company Director to receive a bonus unless their company has made a profit that year. And share option awards should always be contingent on a significant share price rise over a 3 year timeframe, with a minimum 3 year vesting period.

"extremely well positioned" and "WORLD LEADERS". Have I heard those phrases before? Yes, every 6 months ;) We haven’t heard what % of the VCSEL market we currently enjoy for a while but I bet it is less than it was. As I said at results this will be range bound now until the Dec update, our customers results will likely not drive the share price so patience is all we have til then...

Here we go again , death of a thousand cuts with the share price. Being a long suffering shareholder , one likes to keep the faith but patience is wearing thin. No doubt in the near future the directors will be awarded shares as a bonus but should only be award with a caveat as to the share price position , no gain no shares, has a way of focusing the mind , only performance related pay
