09/1/2017 11:02 | I can remember doing some research a while back that led me to believe IQE was collaborating with Intel on modem technology! I was excited when, last year, Intel won the modem slot in the iphone7..... I think Qualcom also has a share of this slot. I can't quite remember how I came to this conclusion but I think I remember an IQE employee being interviewed and hinting this fact.....sorry for the vagueness! The 5G modem would make a lot more sense as I'm sure the frequency bands it would have to cover and the performance could only be achieved using compound semiconductors! | tomyumgoong
09/1/2017 08:38 | Yes, so if there's any IQE tech in there, it will be in the RFIC and/or RF external components. | sheep_herder
09/1/2017 08:35 | SheepI was referring to the intel CES PRquote belowToday, we are adding the Intel® 5G modem to our set of 5G building blocks. It's the world's first global 5G modem to enable initial 5G spectrum trials and deployments worldwide with a baseband chip that supports both sub-6 GHz and mmWave bands. Supporting ultra-wideband operation and enabling multi-gigabit throughput with ultra-low latency, the modem pairs both with Intel's sub-6 GHz 5G RFIC and 28 GHz 5G RFIC to deliver a global reach across the key bands of interest for 5G systems.Intel's new 5G transceiver is the first 5G RFIC to support both sub-6 GHz and mmWave spectrum. It joins, and works with, the mature 28 GHz RFIC announced at Mobile World Congress in 2016 as part of the Intel® Mobile Trial Platform. | tonsil
09/1/2017 08:31 | Well the rise continues. it must pause for breath and consolidation soon but at what value? Is 45 the likely value? | tonsil
09/1/2017 08:30 | tonsil, when you say modem, I assume you mean the RFFE/transceiver, not the actual modem. | sheep_herder
09/1/2017 08:17 | Another good rise L2 still looking good .. only 250,000 sell orders between 43 -45p PEEL have a buy order for 50,000 at 42.5p to give a bit of support at current price | hannath
08/1/2017 22:42 | Aha! confirms Intels new 5g modem has IQE inside!! | tonsil
08/1/2017 21:36 | netcurtains, IQE Has got plenty of irons in the fire. This snippet from their website is very interesting. IQE is at the forefront of developing highly advanced technology for producing compound semiconductor on silicon wafers and has also developed a new range of engineered substrates such as germanium-on-insulat IQE has established a powerful position in these advanced technologies, working with some of the biggest names in the industry and on major government funded programmes, which is reflected in a number of joint patents awarded in conjunction with Intel for the production of compound semiconductor materials on silicon substrates. Indications from customers are that initial product launches are anticipated as early as 2016. We believe that the intellectual property that we are developing in this field has the potential to revolutionise the semi-conductor world, and in doing so create significant long term value to IQE stakeholders. Take note: Joint patents with Intel. Product launches anticipated as early as 2016. | theclangers

07/1/2017 15:11 | There is also a skip header button at the top of the thread. | moormoney
07/1/2017 14:50 | didn't know the latter one SUW, I do though like the headers, some are pages long on other threads, this is not too bad ! | panic investor
07/1/2017 14:33 | ...In fact, I've just noticed that if you go into ADVFN config->General Preferences you can select 'Allow fast access to BB threads'. This option appears to switch off headers completely. Personally I find the headers invaluable - mainly for the charts, when they're set up as above so you can see the volume and trades going through. | someuwin
07/1/2017 13:48 | ...If you use the ADVFN mobile App (rather than viewing ADVFN via your mobile browser) then by default the header isn't downloaded / shown unless you click 'Show the main post'. | someuwin
07/1/2017 11:09 | Headers: Personally I don't look at headers and have to scroll way down to read latest comment. I view forum pages for latest comment not usually for research. Suggestion: Have a thread called "IQE Headers" for all above headers and place a link to it in this one, same way we have link to "IQE website". Then whether folks are after research or last comment they can navigate quickly without clutter. ..and..for those on mobile devices you are not waiting and using up your data allowance downloading charts and stuff you don't want when you view the page. | dr_smith
07/1/2017 07:32 | Well done and thanks Someuwin | sweenoid
06/1/2017 22:05 | I've added the extra charts as requested. Hope it all still displays OK in all browsers. | someuwin
06/1/2017 21:54 | The only reason for ennismore to retain their short position is as a hedge for a larger but undisclosed holding. It wouldn't surprise me if they had 15/10m shares of which 6m are hedged.Bigfrooks, well done on banking your profits. My short term target was 42p and may have a decision to make next week. I'm expecting the Skyworks contract to be announced within 2 weeks and if its bigger than last years (ignoring currency movements) it should help bolster the share price | lpavlou
06/1/2017 18:44 | To answer your question I'm still here, but very watchful as am sitting on a very good, but quite unexpected profit, based on the relatively modest actual improvements in the business (as against the stuff supposedly to happen in x years). Unless a whole load of fairly sizeable investors have all changed their strategy and view since August, which is of course possible. | yump |
