Mad,
I am assuming the iodine-depleted brine leaving the blowout tower for SWD will already be heat depleted due to evaporative cooling during the air extraction process, but who knows.
It all seems a bit complicated to me when you are sitting in the middle of a massive energy rich hydrocarbon field and probably flaring off 'waste gas' which could be utilized.

Todays price fall is my fault, I topped up my wife's stocks and shares ISA yesterday with £2500 worth at 165p in anticipation of a rise. Hey Ho!

Ok, so site heat exchanger at swd plant. If you can get 10 to 20 degrees out of 50,000 bpd you must be on to a winner. There is a massive amount of energy there.
Anyway, back to iof... Come on IO4 you can make it by end of year, and give us all a very nice Christmas pressent.

engelo - great observation 11960 - . . . 2 separate suppliers of the FRP towers are in competition for a fair number of future orders so should be highly incentivised.

Re EDF and the French Connection - this is from memory but hasn't it (either all or part) been put on hold?

added after I thought for a mo. I'll check but I think contracts were signed in principle but the EU are not keen viz a viz financing??? and there's some get out of gaol / cancellation clause.

rockstar ot: thanks for the link: a totally unexpected revelation to me at least :-) . Where there's a will... Big difference between Germany who decided to junk nuclear power (a brave strategic decision at the time imo) and the UK who have just signed up (I think) France to put in our next batch of reactors.

sg: thanks for 11934 re water which sums it all up very well. Imo IOF are not making any further moves in either MT or ND until that first permit gets the OK, so the news is not just important in itself but very highly 'geared'.

On iodine believe that parts of the Ti tower (and maybe all of it, but that's purely my speculation), which arrive in multiple containers by sea and then hit US customs, are already in IOF's hands.

Re FRP towers, it was said at the investor presentation that the way things were looking all 3 towers might turn up at the beginning of December. We can infer from the last RNS that there are delays from this position, but not by how long. On the positive side the 2 separate suppliers of the FRP towers are in competition for a fair number of future orders so should be highly incentivised :-)

Since iodine extraction is favoured by higher temperatures, extracting heat from the brine will reduce the efficiency of iodine extraction so probably not a good idea.

1mad: ingenious idea about using the heat in the waste brine. However think it's a bit like wind farms where the power obtainable is out of sync with the demands of customers from the grid, and no good way to store it.

The demand for hot water will come from a queue of trucks at the water depot, which will be highly variable day by day/hour by bour imo and 'hot water on demand' will rule imo. Also a fine point: pretty confident we own the iodine in the brine, but do we own the heat?

I've been reading up on one share

revenue

2009 R £8.6m loss £6m

2010 R £7.6m loss £8m

2011 R £4.7m loss £10.4m

2012 R £7.6m loss £10.8m

2013 H1 R £1.7m loss £7.9m

So £1.7m H1 this year with a £7.9m loss. market cap £172 mill

predictions of £7m revenue this year with a £14m loss.

2014 forecast £11.6m rev with a £9.5 mill loss

2 brokers with a strong buy.

There seems to be a lack of news about what they wanted to achieve in H2.

jcs re 11950.....as Festario says, I don't think it makes much difference one way or the other to the de-rampers.....they seem to post whatever the shareprice is doing. It doesn't seem right or balanced to me, to only express what we feel about the shareprice exclusively when it's going up or doing well. It makes the board seem biased.

Anyway, as I said before, I cannot believe (hope!) this downward trend will last much longer. It doesn't make sense under the circumstances that we have been led to believe.

SG, the use of a brine stream to heat frack water was more a concept idea. If heated water for fracking becomes the norm then a heat source like the brine stream would reduce costs. Just a thought.

Fest, in he longer term a solid business plan and continued growth will prove that both IOF and QFI are recession proof. I would be more concerned about the many good aim shares which are still a few years away from revenue, they will fall the furthest, but we will be fine.

It's not even going to make £2 by xmas, far less the £5 predictions spouted by the deluded daily rampers of six months ago. Definitely going to be nearer £1 than £2. What a bunch of ramping clowns. This sorry share probably won't even be £2 by xmas next year.

Festario, worraps - I (and perhaps it's we) all share your 'pain'. Maybe, however, whoever ticked woraps down doesn't . . .

It's the joys and pains of AIM companies where ones patience can be severely tested. It's not a pleasant experience whilst it's going against you and 'hang on in there' platitudes are of little comfort.

Fest I know what you mean about friends and family asking "When is it going to rise?" Bit like the kids in the back of the car saying afer a few miles - when are we going to get there! Looking back I should have kept my mouth shut!

Wish now I could hibernate over the winter and emerge next spring to sunshine, flowers, bird song and Iofina knocking out new monthly records on iodine production with 6+ plants in full operation and the water sales begining to flow!

Roll on 2014!
