Scruts IMO you have your head on the sand - you either think Iof can roll out ad infinitum and the competition will just crumble and take it - or that once we have 6 plants rolled out the concept is proved as scalable we will get bought out .. I subscribe to the latter view as does SG and a little naughty of you to suggest this is a new view from SG he has mentioned it many times and you responded with in the same vein as you have.. Scroll back a month or so if you need reminding - Look at the experience the board has at taking a company to profitability and selling it on then take a guess as to what will happen here

I know your view and my logic tells me the iodine div will shatter the radar once io3 and 4 are in.

production figures will equally shatter PI's thoughts of 250mt per plant too, to the upside.

It smashed anything I have ever posted, I find myself on a train thinking my calculator is broken.

Dow 200 down yesterday so no surprise today.

pods can do over 200 my but what I hear re io3 and 4 is a bit nuts, so let's wait and see.

Lance clearly said a few months until the radar pings hard.

it was said io3 has 20k bpd plus of new brine going there now with over 30 expected by the time the build is complete.

I underestimated the ppm. Iof used a hyper for low bpd wells.

however 30k bpd units will have some good average ppm too.

SCRUTABLE - I think most of us would back you on that one. Whether institutional investors would have the elbow room to resist a (potentially generous) offer from Toyota or SQM is another question. I guess 2013 is crucial in that respect. If IOF can demonstrate that the business plan is flying, there's a greater chance of persuading the bigger investors that it's a sound long-term proposition. By the way, did anyone find out if the IOF team were planning to make presentations while in the UK?

Just caught up to date on posts, phew!
thank you to all who reported from the agm.

I didn't expect a price spike after the agm statement, and boy was I not disappointed!
Pity I have no funds to buy.

..... I suspect that the BOD will have met their target price for their shares.... wonder what that would be?

I wonder whether I can persuade other shareholders to repeat my mantra to the likes of Jeff Ploen that it is short sighted to consider an unwelcome bid AT ANY PRICE if it is clear that no alternative investment exists for the proceeds at anything like the overall return or risk.

There is no chance that you, sg, or I could better the return on our funds than in an IOF proceeding to roll out 200 plants at the current price of iodine.
let alone the value of stage 2 when a far sighted dreamer with international marketing talent can imagine creating an iodine processing global empire from the huge cash flow out of stage 1- the first 200 plants in the USA.
The potential beckons for a high tech, high value added iodine processing plant, in each of the dozens of high tech, high population centres in the world. Iodine is such a niche chemical that it presents a first mover opportunity which could live on as world leader for years until mis-managed

Non-exec Paul Chase Gardener listened attentively to this argument yesterday.

We must, and can, change the cultural mind set that would normally take a 30% profit on cap value and move on, and you sg of all people should IMO lead a resistance movement to any thought of sell out, and not resign yourself as you seem ot have done today to not being around to enjoy a share of the huge long term spoils..

Our IOF investment can, as you yourself have long accepted, change our whole lives and that of our entire families by holding tenaciously for at least five years. We have to believe what, previous to ASOS was unbelievable, that a x200 times multiplier of our investment is not impossible and much more likely than winning the multi million lottery.

It is totally wimp-like to consider parting with such an entitlement to a bunch of undeserving industrialists in Chile or slick investment bankers like you know who and if we can get the idea across that5 it is stupid to take money out of the best investment extant to put it into one of far lesser yield, we can change the mindset and defend our long term interest..

We should have 10 plants commissioned by this time next year, at a conservative 250 MT, that would be 2500 MT run rate.

That alone is 320p at P/E 10.

Add in chemical division, water which should be producing and surely worth 400-500p on a 12 month view at P/E 10.

Of course, we are talking triple digit growth, so market should be factoring in the growth as well IMHO.

I'll be adding at these prices.

The only downside I picked up from reports of AGM and the RNS was how dependent on the oil cos they are. If they turn off the brine then no I. This is crucial when we only have one good producer IO3 but will become less of a problem when the other units are on site.

Yea Up all entitled to opinions.
Long term holder me so I try not to get to play around too much on short term views.

Rns poorly worded in my opinion and agreed as such by bod.

ND water is just the same just a different plan. Noli and I raised the WAWS situation some time back. The Bakken is a big area , but the WAWS fun lie's with land owners who can't move around.

So just a different plan there re where to site depots.

I have big expectations re the capability on production of io3 and 4 etc.

We'll just have to wait and see on that one.
however, i feel that things are made a lot worse by the expectations of some continually being amplified (volumes & rates) and accelerated (timeframes) beyond the current 'truth' on the premise that things are being 'played down' or 'kept under the radar'

manipulating information both rumoured and fact and adding 'false' value to the 'true situation' only serves to highten expectation and increase disappointment when things subsequently dont turn out to be as good as the spin doctors make out to be

Water permit said to be around 45 days anticipated so we'll have to see on that. Once done can start the depot project. Said not to be rocket science to get that built.

I asked re io2 extra brine. It's all the drilling activity. 27 rigs in view from io2. New brine could be available within days but obviously add some leeway. Each new well takes 2 weeks.

I think most have taken a beating over the last 3 weeks, over the years it happens on a regular basis, then things return to normal , we know all about iof, just a matter of time , good luck on your investments, maybe iof did get a little ahead of itself price wise, just a correction in my opinion,
