For my lot.

I really can't see Iof being around beyond 2014.
The data stacks but beyond expectations and mind numbing.

So rather than waste countless hours posting and researching, my total focus will be io2 to 6.
I think io2 will get extra lucrative brine in quick time.

So with io3 and 4 built with io5 and 6 going in, at that point IMO iof will get heavy interest and the iodine div gone.
With what they have and such monster chem div companies in that area, I just can't see how they can stand alone.

Scrutable - can I just clarify that your sentence above ...'opex averages out conservatively at $60/kg' ....refers to operating margins and not OPEX as in operating expenses . Much appreciated.

Hmmm...

Take the 800T per year stated earlier as IOC's consumption without expansion.
Then take a 'standard' plant of 30k, 250ppm site => 400T per year.

that means 2 'standard' issue plants will provide all the iodine supply IOC currently require, leaving all the other plants output as iodine for sale directly into the market as raw material.

Steveolds,

I think the 10% is a serious understatement, probably for the ears of our competitors, but also in line with the companies approach of under state and over deliver.

Take a standard 30k plant and put it down on a site with a typical 250ppm concentration. Do the maths on the bpd required to get 200T per year and it is a long way short of the 30k plant limit - it's around 15k.

Superg,

Even after 12/14 plants have been built and are up & running IOF will only have 10% of the iodine market (as I understand it) so surely there will still be buyers for the more expensive Chile stuff? If that is the case then IOF will not put them out of business any time soon I would have thought. Over the next few years perhaps if all goes to plan?

Good evening SuperG, hope you all had a great day, if not great then at least very interesting and pleasurable.
Thanks also to Supreme Mo for keeping the live news feed going!
There was never going to be fireworks today, of course not, as nothing had been RNS'd.

I do hope no one is being cheaply deprived of their shares via stop losses during these volatile days. It is crazy to set them on a share as illiquid as this.
My earlier buys in the 120's and the 160's still look nice, though my top ups in the 240's don't look so clever right now, but it is temporary.
I tried all day to get orders filled at 205, but it was never possible.
If it dips tomorrow, then I shall steam in.

Quarters 3 and 4 look like being full of milestones, and a very interesting time for us all.
Goodnight.

Don't think it's been mentioned that at the end of the AGM CF paid Lance a tribute for his enormous contribution to the company and Lance was very warmly applauded.
