A minor if not completely unexpected surprise to many today - The word from the top was that Lance may or may not return to the CEO position - Given this, it would be surprising if some very discrete enquiries had not already been made re a short list of potential replacements - I guess who, & with what skills may be down to whether the BOD sees a long or short term future for the company as an independent operator

A lot of the heavy lifting appears to have been done, and that takes some broad shoulders - Huge thanks to Lance for that & all the best to him and his family re the health problems

Very glad to hear that he is still actively on board

No doubt a few very uncomfortable T-traders, and even worse SB'ers in the mid/upper 240's?

My position: A LTH who has bought more today. But dare I say that I really don't think a consultant position implies significant continuing involvement, I have seen a number of CEOs step down to become consultant only for them to essentially disappear within a few months, especially once the new CEO arrives, to avoid ambiguity re leadership. Being appointed as a consultant allows the company to be financially supportive to the outgoing CEO, to look after him or her, and that would be entirely appropriate here in recognition of Lance's contribution. Having said that, Lance has been out of the business for a little while now with plans apparently proceeding well in his absence, so I personally attach very little significance to the way the role has been presented. For me we wish Lance the very best for the future and with huge thanks, whilst also getting behind the new team in charge, in whatever form.

Less volume and smaller dro than when he went on leave, so expect a quicker recovery.

Hope Lance also recovers to health soon.

I have just got back in, the main point for me is that Lance is still with the company. Why wouldn't he be after all the hard work and support he has given us shareholders. My thoughts are with Lance and his family and wish him a speedy recovery.

As for lance selling some shares, we all have to live our lives and pay bills so he may shed a few but i really dont know. My guess is, i doubt it as he knows the true potential of our future.

Are you still short here?

The fall looks overdone in my opinion.

He's a shrewd operator so he will wait until the share price reaches a more realistic price.

A little more on Reneuron.

I believe the company as a massively important 3/4 months in front of them. I hear it, has yet, has not secured funding through to stage 2 completion, without funding it will fold. So there's still a huge risk there for those wanting to invest now, however if funding is secured then I see a share price jump to double it's worth now just on the funding news alone, within the next few months.

So for those who like a gamble, will they or won't they - or you could go both ways. For me, either way, they fold or double in the next 3/4 months.

Also something to bear in mind going on in the background.

Excalibur has started to exit all positions in their 2 funds to close them down, most are worthless but Rene isn't to them or their LPs that make up the fund. It's possible that LPs don't give them the mandate to keep their investment active in Rene. If that's the case then a large sell off of stock from one of their 2 major shareholders will see it half at least. It's not in their benefit to do this though now so I'm presuming they'll stay in and bank on funding coming through.

Not one for the feint hearted at the mo.

settle for Executive Consultant....

edit - the above fits in well with this morning's announcement:

"The board is pleased to have secured his services on an on-going basis as a consultant to the group"

Well if I was in poor health and hadnt been drawing a huge salary I'd be inclined to sell some to ensure the financial security of myself and family. Makes sense so time will tell.

vhm - in my experience consultants tend to be more active in the business compared to non execs....

IOF have raised their game considerably in a relatively short period, so could expect a "name" to appear as next CEO...many challenges ahead and probably some in the M&A domain.......guess might take some time to get someone as good as Lance...

Suspect Lance will have an 'executive' role so non-exec position unsuitable

Very mary.. now thats what I like about a lively BB, that just did not occoure to me. I susspect the answer is that as a consultant he will be freeer to trade his shares.. As a consultant, no closed periods.. what do you think nolie superg +....

Best wishes to Lance and his family and thank you.

I'm wondering, with a great deal of the hardest work already done, why don't the company promote from within. There are obviously board members who know the company inside out, and could effect a smooth transition. A new CEO will require a settling in period to familiarise himself (herself) of course, but mostly it seems that the company is up and running smoothly. It doesn't sound as if we need a 'new broom' so to speak, far from it.

The market has certainly milked this announcement again, in fact a double whammy to the share price after the announcement about Lance's health two months ago, when actually this rns says Lance will still be in the background in an advisory capacity.

joe

The drop was always coming for that news, as we have seen by the odd post some exit, but they won't know the situation as well as many that work much harder on research.

Some sell as they think others will sell. Others think 'right where's that buy button'

Having chased down any loose ends today, the latter would be a good call imo.

I'm sure IOF will be on the hunt for a dynamic CEO but the lucky blighter has had all the tough work done for them.

If you look at the big picture for IOF, what an opportunity that is.
