Micro

because I have got 'lucky' with two picks over 4 years, I feel no need to go on the hunt for other shares.

While a limited portfolio is said to be high risk, watching any share like a hawk, seems lower risk to me, than having 10 I know little about.

By concentrating on just a few shares, I believe I have learned so much from digging, posting and what is shared.

I do look at some hype shares and instantly switch off. So many Jam tomorrow shares take off, the hype comes, and it's all over the place.

The early picks I got from end of day data, just by going through lists the turned out. Then a quick tick system re the basics, then filter a few more on basics and so on. Having got that far, if it was tipped or the herd there, jam tomorrow, then I'd leave it.

I did check my 10 picks from back then and 8 are up significantly so it seemed to work.

Other ways are down to just reading a snippet, listing it on the level 1 screen to watch, forget why I listed it, but then one day looking, and then binning it or retaining it as a watch.

I just ignore or small oil companies, the herd are always all over them mainly with a load of BS.

The way I see it a low funds firm finds oil, and while great, the capex needed, and hurdles to jump to turn that into revenue is a very long road.

IMO you can't invest heavily in those on a hope they will hit oil, for the big hike. Most fail it seems.

I'm not hunting at the moment but do look at the odd one that pops up like nano, I have that as Jam tomorrow as it could be a few years to commercial screens and the like the QD's. So I'll just keep it on watch (each to their own).

I have one next tear that on delivery I suspect will multiply 3 to 5 times at least in value, with very little to block that if certain milestones are achieved.

That's aplenty and seems nailed on, on the back of delivery, so I just sit back and keep and eye on progress.

Why look elsewhere. I wouldn't leave IOF next year, or for some time, as on delivery we could be looking at some good divi's and a substantial rise in the share price.

Any little share looking to make the profit transition at pace within 12 months is always of interest.

Option Z is go through the shares list starting at A, and I have done that. lol, but didn't get past B and have no need too for the medium term imo.

Firstly, and most importantly, my best wishes to Lance

Secondly, and not quite so important, my view is that this situation is being carefully 'managed'. Put the bad news out, expect the share price to drop a little but will settle down again....and then, shortly afterwards, hit the Market with some very good news.

We shall see.

Just like to add my best wishes to Lance for a speedy recovery. He's done a sterling job and can be very proud of that. However, he's not been at the helm for 2 months now, so I don't see this as being more than a temporary blip for the share price Good news that his expertise is still available to IOF.

Uncertainty out of the way, and now we can move on. I have no intent of selling any, until at some point in the future, I think the company has peaked, or there is a major concern. All that know me from FUM, are aware that if I think/find there is a major concern, it gets posted with bunting and flashing lights.

The price dipped last time re the step down but soon recovered as it's the business plan that brings in the revenue.

Next Weds will have all very happy I'm sure, and Lance it seems is likely to be there.

The business plan near term for the roll seems to be going very well, so no concerns from me, quite the opposite.

Just seen the news :(( I think people who have good health take it very much for granted as when ill health strikes it not only affects the person but those around him. I wish Lance all the best to a speedy recovery!!

The wife says.

'What's all the fuss with the share price, he has already stepped down'

'It doesn't make any difference to what's going to happen to the company'.

She is always right, so no arguing please. lol or I'll let her post a reply.

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

Edit

An RNS at 10.00 was this designed to reduced the impact, rather than a 7.00 release?
Best Wishes Lance.

I not traded 1 IOF share, I just build and build. I was wondering if this news may come and we know how headless chickens react, so I held back for the next top up just in case.

As I say I understand things for H2 are looking very pretty on the roll out.

A couple of us saw the Baylor appointment some time back, so did wonder if he was stepping back a bit, due to illness, into a minor role in iof, and non exec positions elsewhere.

So it's of no real surprise.

Board meeting in Hawaii sound good to me, and I bet he enjoys them.

Lance, thank you for all your efforts on our collective behalf. Best wishes to you and your family for a speedy recovery.Quite a shock to read this, missed the drop due to meetings but got some more via CIndex. Drop is typically overdone.

SG - I wonder if you know whether the company had a "keyman" policy in place to insure against events such as ill health or death, I know they are reasonably common in the UK for critical personnel and pay out to protect the company from any loss of profit/earnings etc in circumstances such as this.

I think all of us that know where IOF is going, thanks to all of Lance's supreme efforts, wish him well, and are sorry about his ill health. But, as I said earlier, he is still around, still supporting the company and advising, in his consultancy capacity. His influence will still be there, in the background. He will still see the fruits of his hard labour......and so will we. There is so much good news just around the corner, this is a golden shareprice opportunity, even though tinged with regret about Lance.

Crazycoops,
He is still working with IOF on a consultancy basis, I would think with 7,000,000 shares he will still have IOFs best interests at heart.

Agree, a decent hire is needed, I would think many will be keen to join IOF when it's in it's ascendency.
