I fully understand caution but the shorters have more or less gone having claimed a bail out was needed.

Simon C on a whim took a short punt at 56p just when Ennis closed. SC put in his diary that he closed it at a loss having become aware that the team are strong.

They could play the bad results game, but we have covered that, unlike other shares they may attack IOF issues were just down to slippages and changes in strategy, not fundamental issues as in other shares they mention.

Brine issues keep many on the back foot but that is down to differing brine streams and the interruption of supply doing to amount of drilling going on.

Water, as Mr B says is a bonus but it is potentially lucrative on it's own.

I 'suspect' with Brightside there were a few sour grapes going around.

superg1 - this is looking interesting at sub 70p but of course the current price has also been subjected to a shorting campaign which has been a contributory factor in the price fall this year.

I noted Arron Banks arriving on the scene and his bullish comments on the forward potential. That could be a positive going forward but it could also be a pump and dump exercise too. This was why I highlighted the Brightside history. Whilst BB posters there were getting excited about a potential AB bid, he was quietly disposing of his stockholding in the business without notifying the company of his share disposals. This was in breach of AIM rules. Subsequently the regulators requested the company to make a retrospective announcement revealing this and within a couple of weeks AB then disposed of most of his shareholding.

I'm not suggesting that this is the case here but I'm just highlighting the history so that people do not necessarily take everything that is posted here at face value. My finger has been poised by the Buy button for a few weeks but I've yet to press it until I have a much better handle on some of these surrounding issues. In the longer term I think this has considerable potential but it has been subject to considerable volatility, not only due to management failures to deliver, but also to negative sentiment.

I first started to look at this is December when the price was around 150p - see my initial posts #13075 and #13108. Holding back at that stage proved to be a good decision in hindsight and I note that the troll jackabite has now vanished. However there are still a few others around who make totally absurd allegations, as in post #19096, alleging that I am somehow just envious of rich people after I've posted some relevant information for other holders to consider here. Unfortunately ADVFN has quite a number of moronic trolls like that who really desperately need to get themselves a life !

I can't believe anyone would sell their shares at this price based on last years results even if they don't set the world on fire...they are pretty irrelevant as far as I can see given the fact we now 5 plants up and running, number 6 imminent and other potential developments in the pipeline. It's far more important to know what is being produced and sold at the moment! If anyone does sell there will be plenty of buying going on I'm sure!

Masure

I did have a read and digested the info. You appear to be a hovering potential IOF buyer looking at timing.

The price took a dive on a big supply to 50p, the big seller was Old Mutual who had 7 million odd shares and now none.

Mr Big knows Paul Chase-Gardner and Chris Fay, both heavily IOF connected.

Mr Big bought over 4 million shares in a hurry, and it would seem while the supply was there, and it may prove to have been a very shrewd move.

Near term events are poor production for Q1, and results in revenue flat v the previous year.

Results are next week.

But then the flip side is we have had a recent supply knocking it back, rumours so far is that it's not a lot, and I do wonder whether it's near the end, after a bit of a fight back and swing on the balance on level 2 late in the day. We'll see tomorrow. Perhaps the seller wants all out tomorrow pre results.

Then there is the water result.

So you have

Negative results plus negative water.

Negative results plus positive water.

Then add in how the chemical division has been doing, which one poster who spoke to CF records that the chemical division has been doing very well this year, which would be impressive v current iodine prices.

Add in 5 plants up and running now, so it depends if you look forwards or backwards.

Mr Big said he bought 2.5 mill shares which was confirmed. he then said he would buy more and holdings of 4 mill plus appeared. He now says if it drops back he will have more, but then so will everyone else and his dog, so I doubt Mr B will get it all his own way this time around.

The big supplies have gone, many are viewing this as a bargain now and hope for a drop on year end news.

It all depends if you are looking for price entry points, or confirmation of the business position and the water permit situation.

If the supply is to expire, then there will need to be quite a bit of selling come results day to satisfy the needs of others. However I think most PIs would like to top up if possible, and are forward thinking rather than looking backwards.

Mr market is a different matter, so let's see what they do results day, assuming positive water news doesn't scupper the cunning plan.

Oh dear, yet another red end for IOF. Never mind, it's going to be £1 by the 10th of June. Isn't that right Mr big?

Well I sold my handful of shares today at a tiny profit, not because Lance sold 4.5m shares (don't blame him if price was £2 or more) but because we didn't get the holdings rns. I really don't like that. Probably nothing in it and best of luck to holders. I will keep watching with interest.

Best regards SBP

I have not called anyone an idiot, Masurenguy. (It would be too ironic to ask you to read the post again).
Whatever the cause of your displeasure is, there is no point in projecting it onto me. It will not go away.

Not a great analogy really is it. "performing like a submarine. Dive, dive, dive"

Without the "dive" reference I might have thought it was going up since submarines do tend to surface to let the people out.

Got any other bits of nautical nonsense? How about a quiz? Complete the following sentence using one of these phrases:

The International Space Station
Linda Lovelace
The Empire State building

shonny, then why don't you answer the following questions?

Have you taken on Mr Big re his £1000 bet? If not, why not?

Are you too scared or frightened of being wrong? Surely not.

Well, probably not I suppose, I was just being optimistic... but I think a small maiden dividend for FY2015 is almost certain... IF they can progress the business plan as hoped over the next 12-18 months...NAI

cyberbub, much as I would love that to be true, at the moment they still need to sell it first and then get the money in (which might take a few months). They need money for a prilling tower, any further roll-out plans, and we need to find out what will happen with the water. I don't think there's a chance for this year, unfortunately.
