09/6/2013 18:07 | Ammons, CR has been around a long time. Sometimes you can research companies until you are blue in the face, but as you know, there are a lot of factors that need to go together to make a profitable share, it's not all about fundamentals, balance sheets, charts, market sentiment etc. etc. etc. He made an assessment very quickly, off the top of his head, based on very little knowledge - agreed. It is for the very reason that he is a respected poster on ADVFN that people will ask his views on any number of shares. Personally I think, for his own protection, he should decline to give his views on any share that he is not totally familiar with, but that is his choice. Perhaps in future he will be more careful with his choice of language, one ill-chosen word can get people into a lot of trouble these days on the internet. | ![]() doodlebug4

09/6/2013 17:51 | Actually, The Librarian, this whole row didn't start because CR aired his negative views about IOF on an IOF thread, it all started because a poster asked his opinion about IOF on his own (CR) thread and he gave his forthright opinion. He is more than capable of looking after himself on this bulletin board, as you rightly point out and he doesn't need defenders, but it is in my nature to object to anything I regard as unfair comments about people I respect - whether it is CR or anyone else. You can call it "brown nosing" or what Mr BS so charmingly referred to in his post 432. I would happily put this whole issue to rest, but others seem intent on carrying on with their vendetta. | ![]() doodlebug4
09/6/2013 17:41 | Lovely post Scrut, it read beautifully. Agree wholeheartedly with what you say. I don't mind listening to opposite views to mine however I struggle to take seriously the reasoning behind CR's outlook on Iofina and choice of words. If folk want to short Iofina that's their folly. I wish them all the bad luck in the world :-) | skylite
09/6/2013 17:35 | Ahhhh, CR knew what he was doing, a bit of light entertainment. As was pointed out, what a great way to be educated on a company in a very short time. CR is ok and makes money doing what he does, that is why we are all here, well most of us :) | the librarian
09/6/2013 17:27 | Nobody came on here causing trouble neddo, if you remember it was PWcarnell that spotted an innocuous post on CR's thread ... then folk from HERE, went over there. | n3tleylucas
09/6/2013 17:17 | I think anybody who comes on here to try and upset the apple cart are in for a hiding to nothing with all the knowledge that is made available by the residents on here, and will be put to the sword, eh , scrut , sg ,etc, etc | ![]() neddo
09/6/2013 17:07 | With CR's knowledge and experience doodle, don't you think that CR knew what he was doing when he posted on the IOF thread? I have respect for all, but you really don't need to be his defender, he is a big boy! | the librarian
09/6/2013 17:06 | Come on lads, calm down ... the CR 'row' is starting to get silly now, all parties have spent the last few days giving their views a flippin' good airing ... gotta move on, or it will simply escalate into something rather unpleasant. | n3tleylucas
09/6/2013 17:05 | Thought was going to be a ramp, liked the way you brought it round to be on topic. | ![]() beercapafn
09/6/2013 16:44 | doodle: No chance of CR banning you is there! I'm surprised you can type and keep your tongue that far up his A hole ;) Jeeze man! Mr Bluesky | mr_bluesky
09/6/2013 16:42 | Following on from CR's comments, one thought on why IOF is low risk compared to many AIMs is the product. A couple of company's mentioned recently include NANO and TRT. Both these companies must develop the product and develop the market. For example Nano, if Ndots are to be used in TVs, they must prove the production process, demonstrate that they can be used in TVs, prove the quality of the picture is better than current TVs, prove the longevity of the product and that the cost will be sensible. In their case they have had to convince a larger chemical company (DOW) to take on the product to fund it into serious production too. Once TVs have been made with their product, consumers need to decide that the new technology is worth it. It is difficult to judge how big all these challenges will be and clearly some have been accomplished. BTW I have a small holding in Nano. The story will be similar with TRT, where the technical challenge may be straight forward, but creating a market for the products that in many cases customers didn't know they needed and setting up the production capacity is probably the bigger challenge. Iodine on the other hand can be the end product and there is a market out there for 30000+ tPa. IOF don't have to create a new market, all they had to do was prove the tech and now roll it out. With lower opex than the competition the risks have to be small as long as roll out is achieved without major issues which currently seems likely. Of course they can also sell through there chemical division to further increase margins by selling iodine derivatives. | dr andrewd
09/6/2013 16:21 | I rest my case EWCT | everybodywangchungtonight
09/6/2013 16:19 | And that is without the water and month upon month of IOC profits now that they no longer buy in Iodine... staffing costs are rising a bit though in the initial roll out but are factored in to the opex when each plant up and running :) | the librarian
09/6/2013 16:03 | Don't get me wrong, I don't necessarily agree with all of what SCRUT posted, I think he went a little melodramatic at times ... but that's part of the reason I enjoy reading him. | n3tleylucas
09/6/2013 16:01 | Superg1 I wont post any more then as I feel the point of having a thread is to engage ATB Mr Bluesky | mr_bluesky

09/6/2013 15:59 | Superg1. And I respect that. I am invested in IOF for a long time and for the long term. ATB Mr Bluesky P.S: off now to make a chilli con carne and drink a Hobb Goblin while doing so ;) | mr_bluesky
