"It actually is quite disturbing. IOF isnt doctrine. And contrary views are allowed."

Contrary views are allowed because this is an ADVFN thread. The big voices here may try every dirty trick in the book to silence opposition, they'll fail. They can't win.

People are precious about their threads too upp., maybe that is why CR came over here to continue the discussion, each as guilty as the other maybe? :-)

I think he said potentially but if you look at it, it was really a view covering the majority of AIM shares and why he doesnt invest in them, but anyway I'm sure CR can talk for himself. There are plenty of opportunities out there, I personally couldn't care less what people say about a share I've bought, I know why I buy in and that's good enough for me. I just don't get why people are so precious about it.Anyway, enough from me, I've got wine to drink.

Saying that they could be a 'scamster' share is not a contrary view though is it. I think CR's input has been worthwhile, if not ill thought out. And I do think that initial comment was a little silly.

I think CR made one comment on his thread in response to a question. That would have been the end of it. This thread then descended on him demanding answers. Good god, even the CEO who is on sick leave was asked to get involved. Its like the Spanish Inquisition. And nobody expects them.It actually is quite disturbing. IOF isnt doctrine. And contrary views are allowed. Last time i looked this wasnt North Korea. And yes, I hold.

I suppose the best that could have been said would have been 'I know what I know and invest with that knowledge, and what I don't know I dismiss' which would have been a fairer contribution.

So many come along and do similar, it does frustrate me pcjoe, remember when you first came along? :)

I've just been having a wander around the US on GoogleEarth to see if any new satellite images have been installed, and have found one over Johnson County, Texas from April. A few weeks ago following the comment from JP at the presentation about IO#1 being on a county boundary, I said that I thought that the site was the Polley SWD in Johnson County. I can confirm that now, with the following image:

Lib - War & Peace is a "short story" compared to the old thread! - Just makes it all the funnier when we get a two minute visit from on high pontificating to all based on virtually zero knowledge of his subject

Good post Lib, IOF say it as it is, good and bad, to illustrate from Dec 2012
"Operationally, startup issues have centred on common failures relating to the likes of pumps and gaskets, where the specification has now been amended. As expected, some fine tuning of both the quantity and specification of the process chemicals being used has taken place. Winter temperatures and heat loss in the brine through trucking has, as expected, impacted production in the period post summer" I have confidence with
1. The company
2. The Board
3. The generosity of this Board in sharing their in depth research.

CR if you don't want to buy IOF thats fine. What I don't understand is why you feel that you have to knock the share. I cant work out why you and others do that are you motivated by a genuine concern for others or is it just down to Hubris?

You are getting there maca, but you seem to be ignoring that fact that IOF have been collecting ppm data for many years now, it may be confusing that they have not quoted high ppm's but the intention behind that was not to alert the competition what they are up to. Once they have tied up the brine leases with the highest ppm's they will open up.... You should take a lot of notice of what noli and superg say on that point, they did many months of research and finding out this time last year.

Understand your confusion but suggest you look in the search box in the old thread, that will keep you going for a few days!

Completely off topic from the current discussion, but I think this link is worth a read re Sandridge and its investment strategy in high capacity SWDs to reduce costs. One would assume that piping water directly from well head to SWD would be part of this plan.
A concentration on lowering disposal costs of brine, by investing in larger capacity SWD's would appear to be in line with IOF strategy to locate their plants where high volumes of brine are being disposed of. Of course the ppm iodine content of the brines will also factor!!
One might envision in time that Iodine extraction would be designed in.

Good posts square1 and monts (pp Zengas!). It's the man at the top that is the embarrassment there sky, can't tar them all with the same brush. How much profit have ASOS made thus far in comparison to the sp?

CR is in a very good position with his followers and has probably earned it, but similarly Superg is here.

There is a big difference though, Superg is very careful NOT to say that he has bought into any other company (did it once with ATUK so knows the consequences). CR will only say after he has bought into a company and then after he has sold, the consequences of that are up to the individuals who follow, a lot of self-fulfilling prophecy there that may elevate self belief.

I don't think it is a good idea to recommend a short considering your aversion to AIM CR, people may get burnt and you would be responsible for that.... they may not .. but that is the risk you take with the power that you hold.

I don't think for one minute CR is a bad person, but the continuous knocking of IOF and coming over here to do it is rather strange. What I would say is be cautious and take a lot from what Square1 says, he doesn't post very often on here, has given some good advice is very experienced in this area and well respected.

Who's gonna be the 1st to filter CR? LOL ... I've done my own research CR, they'll do well to hit £5m this year, £10m next ... at very best it's a 75p stock. Chronically under-funded for water/oil & gas, even had to issue a $15m junk bond just to implement current plans, despite EVERYONE on here saying they never needed extra funds. It might be a nice little growth stock, but £300m now? Nah, £100m tops, way too high.

There seems to be a circuitous argument that because it's AIM and US it must be bad vs triple digit revenue growth revenue growth yoy for the next few years. I am long, have been since Dec 2011(fortunately). I have satisfied myself that this is no scam-not by meeting directors etc, but being in the fortunate position of having friends in the Investment industry who have visited the sites, seen the tech in action, as well as much of the excellent research by SG and others. The Company has found itself in an incredibly fortuitous position because of the fracking boom to have ready made resource in both brine and water. The scale of this involves a great deal of luck, but I like lucky Generals!! However, I have no desire to convince people of my reasoning, just as I can accept others will not agree with me. I know a fair bit about investing- I worked in the City for 15 years as a FM, 'retired' at 33 and just invest my own cash and have been doing it for 16years, I can guarantee everybody makes mistakes every day and I am not conceited enough to say I know everything. I remain very confident of the Company's ability to roll out low capex tech with a high return in a very short time. If I'm wrong I will accept that, but contrary to some perceptions I do not believe the price would collapse on any small misses because the roll out is still in place-not that I expect this-Iodine is a niche industry which is hard to produce commercially. All in all I feel relaxed on prospects for at least the next 18 months but that doesn't stop me re-examining regularly. Good luck to all

CR - How do you personally value a company with potential and growth prospects which are gradually being realised like IOF. Just look at the progress the company has made in the last 12 months with massive rollout in the pipeline which will substantially increase revenue and profit

Your comment "IOF looks pretty unproven imo, with the petty turnover" This comment could apply to every company in its early stages even companies which are now FTSE 100 companies.

You seem to make no allowance for this potential which suggests you have done no research and are just assuming the company will be like all the other AIM dogs you have mentioned.

CR - You`r input on this BB would carry more weight if it had arrived on the basis of some actual homework re the Iodine market and Iofina`s business model & prospects pertaining thereto - I have no impression that you have done anything in this regard - Until you do then general Imperious wafflings re the Aim market generally will cut little ice with me or a good few others - You are not bringing anything new to the table

A word of advice show a little respect and carry out a little background checking before making any more off the cuff & ill informed comments re this company

EDIT

Feel free to show a little humility - Any questions respectfully asked will be answered to the best of this boards ability

I agree with a lot of what you say CR, but this statement

'But what you're actually doing is holding a deck of cards and banking on the next card turned being the Ace of Spades'

Is frankly ridiculous. Making statements like that about a company that you have done very little research on is a little narrow minded in my opinion.

As we have said though, all opinions and time will tell. Will be happy to discuss again at the end of year. I give you permission to tell me 'told you so', IF you are right ;)
