08/6/2013 20:48 | That's a great post Lib (& SHUGGY) - fracking was mentioned on Question Time (Thurs this week - the prog' came from Blackburn, Lancashire - "4,000 holes in Blackburn Lancshire de do de doo dah . . . ) Not 4,000 yet or even one unless I'm mistaken. N. America was cited, though with the caveat that where fracking occured there, it was far less populated. Igas, IMHO, has legs and when and if they get a Bill through Parliament - then watch out. The Government have the potential to make massive revenue gains here. Anyone tell me that they (politicians across all parties - i.e. those in power v those waiting in the wings) won't leap at the opportunity? With all the potential reserves etc. who'd bet against it. My money says there may be some fudging and NIMBYism but in the end, money talks. | johncsimpson
08/6/2013 18:47 | Presumably you mean the difference in Imperial and US barrels. I made a very basic mistake many years ago whilst ordering water for a pipeline hydrotest in Iran with my brand new Texas Instrument Conversion Calculator. Strutting around and posing I ordered what I thought was enough water to be delivered only to find I was short. It was a great source of mirth to my colleagues when it was explained that Texas Instruments were in US gallons and my calculations were in Imperial. The calculator stayed in the drawer after that LOL!. | ![]() sandbag
08/6/2013 18:28 | Forgetting the roll out, what do we have now.? Recycling 1 mt per week, I'm guessing high opex on that, but obviously it's paying in some way or they wouldn't bother with it. io1 per week, say $30 per kg opex, so $30 per kg profit ($1.5m PA). We all know io1 is more or less a test plant compared to io2. Io2, latest was about .75mt per day but opex will be around $15 imo (and details) around 62% capacity and the mention of a potential 50% upgrade from there. About 34k profit per day currently ($12m pA) on 65%. The extra 50% should push opex down to $10, so $56k profit per day ($20m profit PA) I forgot to mention I seem to remember reading somewhere that io2 may be a 35k unit, but we'll leave it at 30 for now. Obviously that contradicts buy notes that drop the iodine price, add in 25% down times and reduces the io3 max output by about 75% or less than a 5k bpd pod could do. So io1 profit S1.5m PA io2 $12m (62% capacity) - $20m PA Based on facts provided. For io3 to io 10 plus use io2 figures. (if you know how to read rns's, and the presentation, plus research) So while some can't see the potential I can, None of it is based on fantasy guess work, all the facts are out there, you just have to know where to find them. Obviously early doors we are going to have plenty of recruitment and spends for contract agreements, lease fee's etc. So io2 to 6 could add over $100m in revenues when they are up to speed. Then starts the rapid roll out. The challenges keep coming, I keep checking and rechecking, but my calculator keeps giving the same figures. As one found today a small wrong turn on what they mean by barrel can send you down the wrong path. | ![]() superg1

08/6/2013 18:01 | Can Some can spend a lifetime doing a particular thing and never grasp the concept of it. Square pegs rounds holes and all of that. The whole investing spectrum is beyond the best of experts I would imagine, it would be nice the drop an exam paper multi-guess on the best ones, and just see how they fair on the finer points. I would imagine the results would be poor. How anyone can keep tabs on a decent sized portfolio in depth is beyond me. They talk of certain shares being high risk, but if you rely on others and don't do any research, they are all high risk IMO. I suppose that's why you get the TA guys, it's the simplest form of investing. You don't have to have the slightest clue what a share is about. However sometimes you are going to go with TA, and you are going to step on a landmine. That's their acceptable, no research, risk level. | ![]() superg1

08/6/2013 17:41 | To Superg1 re. your suss in blink of eye, many years ago I had an elderly retired GP.as a customer in my small Suffolk pub., who said that a good GP. could usually tell what was wrong with a patient as he entered the room , and before he spoke and sat down. I must add how much I have appreciated your (and a few others) research, and have most of my small amount of cash in Iofina. Also a violet shirt and renamed the dog. Can not decide whether to sell a few thousand pounds in QFI to transfer here. What a dilemma to have ! Regards jy. | canalet3
08/6/2013 16:54 | Lib, Your post 1273: Perhaps simplified but it sums it up pretty good. Sorry for the delayed answer, been taking in the sights of Rhodes today - third holiday this year - old age isn't too bad! 08/6/2013 16:33 | Well we all have different views. I recall nano recently mentioned here and CR has a thread for that one, probably just a punt and not a serious stab being an AIM share. I did a bit of research on that one as it was mentioned here and posted a while back, and have it as one to watch. There was a lot of confusing and conflicting info around, on quantum dot prices. Cadmium free is a big plus, but as we know with great tech it doesn't always involve great results. Another issue is screen life as that for now, will be untested on a large scale, quantum dots are subject to breaking down quickly in certain circs, much like many other things. Just mentioning it to show views differ. I'm sure there are plenty that have done plenty of research on nano way more than I have. If it's something I took a serious liking to in the future, I doubt there is anyone out there that would throw more time into investigating the share than me. Whether that left me better informed is a coin toss. I just did an hour or 2 when it got mentioned here, and none since, or intended. Each to their own. | ![]() superg1
08/6/2013 16:21 | CR having another emotional breakdown about IOF on his leaders bb on points Superg has already responded too. Lol | hurricane.
08/6/2013 15:38 | I have just caught up with the thread after being away for a few days. I have fond memories of CR, in the earlier days as a novice investor, I did find many of his recommendations rewarding. I have been caught out by one or two AIM shares over the years, and if anyone reading here has not, never say never. However, after many hours of research, checking, the invaluable guidance of SG and many other combined with openness of Lance and the board compelled me to invest in IOF. It is my belief that IOF is the real deal and I am confident that IOF will produce substantial returns for all investors, recent and for those like myself who have been fortunate to invest earlier. IOF have a game plan that is in progress and fairly soon we should hear about IO3 and the roll out. Everyone has their right to their opinion and when the profits come through the doubters will stop posting. We all need a bit of patience in anticipation of a glorious Autumn. Sorry if you miss out CR. | ![]() rogerbridge

08/6/2013 15:05 | No, I was just asking if anyone knew anything more about him Librarian, he's effectively running the co now - just wondered if the more objective knew anything about him. Just put that link there cos I was told to search Google - which I have done. You have lost the CEO at the moment through health reasons and have Fay and Eaton running the show - important to know if the subs bench is as good when given the captain's armband imo. Not to worry, I'm not particularly interested in IOF - I only responded here because I got savaged for dare saying I thought the co looked like the rest of the iffy foreign stuff that lists on AIM then when you try to have a proper discussion all holders have in their vocabulary here is 'eff off' - sort of tells me what the intellectual levels are like here enough to know all I need to know :-) CR CR | ![]() cockneyrebel |
