How do we know that the water application is turned down, there is no RNS, or any thing which says the permit has been turned down. Where is the proof? it's all scam make the PI sell.

Shoddy - you appear on this bb when the price drops and disappear when the price rises. Today you are right but I'm confident that your gloating will be short lived.

Water is icing on the cake, but regarded as none core. Even so our application has not been turned down for good. Procedures to go through.
Record Iodine production, anyone selling now must be bonkers, I see this as a buying opportunity. Added more this morning and some for the wife, very overweight here now.
Everyone has a choice, buy, hold or sell, I am holding now until we have a production update.
I do think that the IOF P.R. and advisors should be fired.

Exactly. I hope the management will at some point soon (Jan would be good) issue a comprehensive interim management statement that clearly shows where we are. Then, except for exceptional news, they should ignore market moves and give comprehensive 6 monthly updates detailing the new position and hopefully progress. These should be snapshots of current position

The only other info would be then be the results, which by their nature are retrospective and so do not reflect the current position but are essential for fiancial analysis and forecasts. This year, they have created an issue with rushed, woolly RNS's that raise more issues than they answer which suggests they are not in control. Those who wish can then discuss hard facts and the 1 line posts from people pretending to have some insight that add nothing (both positive and negative) should be even less relevant to the people who seem to take notice of them.

ONB - I like the mnemo....

Agreed, communication could be improved, but this is a company of technicians.
Reminds me of a cousin who was quality controler for Ciments Lafarge - huge biz.
A great technician, but so financially ignorant you could have paid him in 5 bob notes!
IOF is a newish company, & as such there's a learning curve.

Water permit seems a bit like planning permission - you aply, get refused & address the reasons for the refusal, reapply & so on until there's no more refusal. Question of time & patience.

Besides, IOF is about IODINE first, & maybe water as a bolt-on;
not so fundamental -
but has driven some peeps mental!

Thank you for that kind advice. Are you totally blind or just in one eye. You can't deny that I've been proved right and the starry eyed rampers like yourself have got it wrong big time.

It just goes to show how many read this board when a poster this morning told us the water news, and then the sells piled in. Actually, this hiccup is unfortunate and unexpected, but the water permit is still very much in play.

Though not the main part of the business, the water part is still very important to the company; one only has to see the effort they put in to obtain the rights swap for Atlantis (which could be very useful later). Also they withdrew from the partnership with HAL to go it alone, and still have up their sleeve work done for the original 200000bpd they applied for. We can be assured I think, bearing all of this in mind, that the company will do everything they can to get this matter resolved, and the application approved.

You could be right, readthis......

My original buy, of which I have kept 100%, was at 40p, so I'm not too fussed!
Also, imo 125 will look cheap some day soon.

Baguette,

If you or I were in charge of this company with the share price antics we are seeing, would we issue an RNS with as positive news as possible - absolutely yes. If they cannot produce one that is very worrying.

I know you are not the only one who wants the company to make an announcement but I have a completely different take on your statement above.

The BoD should not be concerned with day-to-day share price movements. Their job is to increase shareholder value - in IOF's case that means executing the business plan to the best of their ability and keeping the market informed of the progress they are making. They also have to protect shareholders' interests in the event of a hostile takeover.

A hostile bid notwithstanding, I would be quite happy for them to issue their next update on iodine production at the beginning of January (no later than 7th January) at a time when they can confirm the exit run rate as of 31st December. That is the short-term metric they have been asked to be measured by and that is what I shall measure them on. I would also expect an update on build progress for IO4-6. After that, I would expect a trading update in March ahead of full year results in late April or early May.

This said, I would like clearer RNS statements to be issued - the last couple have contained too much ambiguity for my liking.

As for water, there is an argument for a brief statement that clarifies the reasons for the application denial and what action they are taking to resolve those issues. But I am ambivalent whether they issue this RNS and don't think that it is regulatory necessity.

In the event of a hostile takeover bid, all the above changes. In such an event, I would expect the BoD to spell out the entire business plan and detailed numbers in defence of the bid.

If the price stays this low or goes even lower between now and the next RNS, I see it as market efficiency, allowing those who are confident in their research to accumulate more shares at lower prices. What I don't want to see is the BoD issuing a hasty RNS based on short-term share price movements - other than to clarify the water application process/actions.

Dear rampers, de-rampers and honest investors,

I think we can all agree that Iofina's Chairman needs to fire our PR company, and find someone who can communicate clearly and honestly with us, the owners of the company. All of us want to know:

a. How is current production volume?
b. What is current pricing?
c. What is the real timeline for 4 and 5 to be operational, and what level of production can we expect?
d. Is the water denial an administrative issue that can be quickly resolved, or is it dead?

Decent communication with the owners of the company is the hallmark of a good company. Shoddy, slow, opaque communication is the opposite. It is time for Iofina's management to stop mucking around and start talking to the company's owners. So far very unimpressive. ONB.

I think I will leave you in your dream world. Enjoy your day!

the drop this morning doesn't reflect our growth and prospects.

Just supply and demand of the shares and that factor can predominate, so theorectically price can drop sub £1 depending on supply.
