Madchick my thoughts exactly cf said last time they never anticipate buying in iodine again so why have a relationship? Either we are not yet self sufficient or the links are there for an eventual take out by the chileans and they are keeping a watching brief until they are convinced our model is proven and scalableOn acquisition let's get our heads out of the sand the BOD must have told us multiple times this is the exit plan Scruts simplistic spreadsheet of future growth takes no account of the complications of scaling a business up in terms of employees and the complexities of running a rapidly growing business Iof have no desire or capability to go it alone as the world's largest iodine producer the exit strategy is to be taken out and it's only a matter of time

Can anyone explain the need for a close relationship with the Chileans, unless the directors have fixed their minds on selling as soon as possible? With the proven technology, the company seems to have in its grasp the wherewithal to take the markets by storm and establish itself as a world leader safely beyond the grasp of any likely predator.

Scrutable is a valuable asset to this board whatever his age. He warns me off of spread betting, not that I would go that route. He supplies good information on the company, an insight into charting and if he is 89 he is concerned for others investors when he says to the company 'don't sell out'.

I love the idea of taking over another company to defend our investment.

Wizard,
1) the patent announcement will come
2) I did not find George hesitant and uncomfortable, just boring! He generalised with everything, as if following a tight brief. CF even moved him on at the end, seemingly having noted frustration in the audience. Seemed a thoroughly capable chap to me though. Lance answered quite a bit, but as referred to for much of that, stepping in when he obviously felt it necessary. As CF pointed out, he has a huge wealth of knowledge, which needs passing on to George and Gary, as do the relationships he has built up with the Chileans. Lance and George will visit Chile together in the coming months to pass that relationship over.

Couple of other thing
1)there should be an RNS re the patent they have been granted on the mobile units
2) I thought that George seemed a little hesitant in his delivery and marginally uncomfortable standing up with the questions being answered by Lance sitting down in the audience

A lot of posts to read, especially on an iPhone

Having been to the last few presentations a few of us have got to know the Iof team.
Team used to be mainly Lance wearing all the hats working himself to the bone.Attendance is not only about digesting information but picking up on general vibes.
On that front I had this great sense of a management team that just fit and gel so well with each other.
Their combined experience and individual skills just left me thinking how much better could this be, the team looks great.

Re Ceo selection, They had a number of chest thumpers talking about how they would change and improve things. Iof wanted a guy that could deliver not rip the engine apart and fine tune it.

George and the team will deliver, not dismantle a proven model

Toyota with cars I understand don't change anything that has been working fine for years. If things work don't fix them. That was the clear message on how they intend to progress

Wizard - agree. Produce working examples of the various sized plants show what they are capable of over 6 months/1 year and exit. Sounds sensible to me.

One thing that came out of questions yesterday relates to the speed of future roll outs. The switch from Titanium vessels which have to be imported, checked at the inboard port and then transhipped by road with a considerable cross country road trip thereafter to fibreglass(?)which, although it has a 10 year life as against say 30 for Titanium, considerably shortens the order period as they are manufactured in the US thereby speeding up the roll out possibilities and adding greater certainty to delivery times.

There seemed little doubt that Fay does not expect to be holding an AGM in 3 years time but that the game is to roll out asap to increase production with proven flexible technology so as to max the exit price.

For anyone getting gooey eyed about his posting just ask yourself is an 89 year old gambling with other peoples money really such a big risk taker? If he gets wiped out as he has done several times and ends up owing the sb companies money who cares. Easy to be gung Ho. loosing all of your capital in your forties a very different storyAnd as for the constant ramping of that Chinese rubbish haven't you been told off about that multiple times alreadyFor once Nutley is the voice of reason here .
