It depends whether they bomb Syria or not. Well we've got a double top on the daily chart, the share price may ease off a tad for today. I expect a lot more buying to come though, IOF will be creating a lot of exposure for themselves with the right people over the next fortnight.

Oh Dear!

"should be capable of averaging 200 tonnes/year of iodine" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

where is the important words "million tons"?

Investec's update is not only badly written, it is so conservative!

An update from Investec, so so conservative still!

Broker Investec, meanwhile, suggests Iofina may have as many as 24 plants extracting iodine by end-2016.
At an iodine price of $50/kg, each plant adds US $20m of value (10/p share) versus a unit capital cost of US$2 -3m, the broker estimates.
Each can handle a throughput of up to 30,000 b/d and should be capable of averaging 200 tonnes/year of iodine (0.7% of global supply). Extraction costs are $10-20/kg, around half that of mined iodine in Chile.
Based on 18 plants, this implies a core, NPV-based valuation of 152p, including Iofina's chemical assets (15p/sh). A further two plants per annum beyond 2016 gives a further uplift of 75p, which is the basis of Investec's 230p target price.
This does not include anything for the Montana water project, or its deep-shale rights, while the roll-out can be self-funded.
"Should management hit its expansion targets, a valuation around 400p/share is feasible, in our view," adds the broker, which has a 'buy' stance.

I wouldn't rely on a backtest, there is some information on the water rights waiting in the background, there are a lot of oil companies in that area looking for just that type of opportunity. Hopefully 6/7 weeks from now all will become very clear on that non-core project.

Yes, at first i was disappointed by the 700-1000 ton pa, but on reflection they are being conservative because the high ppm brine sources wont come online at once, so its best to stay low key but still truthful. I trust they will have the minipods fabricated and ready for use before their patent is approved. I hope the fact that they are truck mounted can avoid a lot of regulations that would slow their roll-out, such as land/building rights etc. A couple of 1-5000 ppm plus pods in the coming quarter or two would boost the 1000 ton pa estimate considerably.

Good healthy response and the insti presentations will have only just started.Plenty of room being left for over-delivery I hear.No worries for us, but plenty for those Chile mines.
