26/6/2013 16:26 | beercapafn - maca's right, but personally I have rather mixed feelings about the ad issue. Yes, they're annoying. But I'd rather ADVFN got some revenue via advertising than have to rely solely on subscriptions, as the shortfall would simply be passed on to PIs. So IMV it's the lesser of two evils. | ![]() writz

26/6/2013 15:52 | beercap, A decent ad blocker add in (Firefox Chrome etc.) or filter list if using IE should get rid of most of the advertising tomfoolery (but not all I notice), and allows the site to load faster. M Re PM - I know how you feel! | maca1212
26/6/2013 15:23 | I've two now, the other one is tow and half. I'm very confident that Iofina is going to cushion the blow :-) | skylite

26/6/2013 15:12 | It's not to often i stray away from IOF to look at other shares, however SIM - SimiGon looks very interesting indeed, very quiet bb and the company has just turned into profit, with profit expected to grow. Well worth adding to the watch list imho. I havn't looked to deep into the share but what i have read i like very much. Link to the website Edit: Well worth a read of their results and contracts signed. | ![]() noli
26/6/2013 15:11 | If you copy the bit that you want, press control and C, then press control/shift and L, that will take you to the site, no need to open a browser. At the moment IOF are damned if you do and damned if you don't with RNS's, the reaction would be that it is a desperate attempt at shoring up the share price... not good... they only have one option at the moment which is to let it run it's course, consolidate at whatever level it will and then roll out the news! Unfortunately as we have seen, with the delay it's a traders dream at the moment! | the librarian

26/6/2013 15:06 | gadolinium & maca1212 I find that I can cut and paste all of the link except the hxxp:// at the start directly into the browser address window and it works ok. I use Firefox 21.0 as my web browser. | ![]() obbig60
26/6/2013 14:56 | gadolinium, Yup, re 3903 and inability to post direct links, I'm afraid that that is my experience too. It would appear that there is a drive to 'monetise' us. BTW if you simply omit the leading hxxp:// from your copy and paste, the link should work directly in a browser's address bar.. M | maca1212
26/6/2013 14:55 | Thanks, I'll pass the congrats on to the missus and baby Iodine. | skylite

26/6/2013 14:50 | I've actually got the run of the matrimonial bed at the moment Wayne, we had a daughter a week or so ago so the missus has decamped to the spare room. From lying next to something the size of Wiltshire to a double bed to meself - bliss. | skylite
26/6/2013 14:43 | Good lad skylite hopefully she'll be thanking you come Xmas :) | warrensearle
26/6/2013 14:43 | Superg1 - Having suffered at the hands of TW re CUPID recently , I can only advise to take any recommendations of his with a pinch of salt as he may be liable to moving his opinion rapidly in the opposite direction . | ![]() dcgray21

26/6/2013 14:36 | Can we do something about the links to web pages? In some posts they work and some not. Is the ability to post unbroken links now limited to blue posters, in an attempt to elicit more subscriptions? I notice with mine, ADVFN keeps changing the http prefix to hxxp which makes the link no longer work. I am having to cut and paste the links from the posts in to a new blank document, edit hxxp to http and then open the link from the new document page. Very tedious, does any body have a better idea? Edit: Post accidently duplicated on the old thread. | ![]() gadolinium
26/6/2013 14:36 | With my impeccable timing I've been topping up this morning - at 160! I mentioned this over lunch to Missus Skylite who concluded that "you're rubbish at this". She doesn't yet know it was her salary being used, it went into the bank last night. | skylite |
