25/6/2013 12:48 | hi Testuser123 That is not at all consistent with what i am told The skim production is very significant actually. Try doing the maths on 1% skim on 30kbpd at $90 netbacks... Skim % is likely higher. Hopefully some the highly knowledgeable posters here and those in regular touch with the company can properly investigate. I believe IOF have very much missed a trick if they are seeing no benefit from the skim The question is can they build it into new contracts? | pigeon1
25/6/2013 12:41 | Hi Pidgeon1, Yes IOF do use skimmers, but they tend not to get much out of it (couple of barells here and there) with the exception of the odd occasion where the oil companies screw up their piping and send us a few hours worth of pure oil. The company have previously stated that they tend to give the producers their oil back. | testuser123
25/6/2013 12:41 | What I'm hearing from city circles was that yesterday's drop was initiated by a large forced seller on IG. Apparently they sold 4.5 mil shares. Not sure how much truth there is in that though to be honest, but that's what I've heard. But obviously that just set off a wave of panicking / stop losses and the rest was history. A good reminder to not invest more than you can afford to lose and if you're having trouble sleeping at night, you've probably got too much at stake! Anyway, the story remains the same. Hopefully they resolve the CEO issue soon and get IO3 up and running asap. I'm looking for 8-12 plants up and running by end of 2014. I just hope this stock isn't ruined by day traders, after the recent rapid rises and even more rapid falls. Good luck all! | eddyeagle1979
25/6/2013 12:32 | Last thing on the skim If Iofina's plants/technology is more advanced and competitive or cheaper at capex or opex levels to strip the water and skim the oil then could IOF look to market it to operators or SWD folk regardless of the iodine content, or where there is modest iodine ppm? SWD and oil skim is mega business | pigeon1
25/6/2013 12:27 | Thanks chaps, much appreciated. | ![]() bogg1e
25/6/2013 12:26 | Well done Riki It's under the radar but v interesting. Plenty of news to come i expect. | pigeon1
25/6/2013 12:25 | One thing i am confused about Noli is why oh why they not benefitting (as far as we know) from the oil skim before disposal? In the world of salt water disposal the actual disposal function is a means to an end to get the oil skim, which is where the money is made. Is Iofina getting a share of the oil skim or not? If not, that's a great shame as the numbers will be huge. Really huge. I think if not they maybe they just didn't know about it when they negotiated the initial contracts so it's been a missed open goal in some respects. But can they now either renegotiate or build a profit share on the skim into contracts going forward? It would be seriously material to IOF. | pigeon1
25/6/2013 12:23 | Yes Pigeon1 - I have been following NCT for the past couple of months and they look like a great low risk play in the region - sorry a bit off topic. | ![]() rikivilla
25/6/2013 12:18 | The ML as we know is a shallow play, as such it costs less to drill hence all the interest from the companies, iofina fits in well with ofsetting their disposal costs, if i remember correctly SG did a working out and it offsetts the full disposal costs for the swd operator. | ![]() noli
25/6/2013 12:02 | That's right Noli I can strongly recommend Northcote Energy to anyone who is interested in genuinely and certainly relatively low risk oil and gas production onshore USA. PArticular focus on Mississippi lime and shallower formations. Due to the low geological risk over there, it's indeed a production company which accepts very modest exploration risk to generate very good returns. I also believe they are testing their produced brines for iodine given the interest in Iofina... Use or flush... | pigeon1
25/6/2013 11:59 | SG Are you thinking once the first tiger pounces there will be a rush to get the whole prize from a number of other parties (maybe not Iodine producers)? | freshvoice
25/6/2013 11:54 | Boggle That rns is the first real hint at where they have found an iodine producers dream. I'm not sure if the new guys are aware of who is in this industry and would want to take out any low capex, low opex, high potential producers. There are one or two I had missed before. Happy to list them, some producers some Chem divs. US end users import near 6000mt. | ![]() superg1
25/6/2013 11:49 | Mississippi Lime play, another Bakken boom only cheaper to drill as it's shallow. The one issue is the large brine volumes, btu that's great for iof as those brines are lot's of BPD and by far the best iodine brine anywhere. Hoe good for iodine is known by IOF and that is why Chile producers on their high capex and opex, will feel the pain very shortly. So SQM, Toyota, and others, will be looking very seriously at iof near term. | ![]() superg1

25/6/2013 11:44 | Bogg Read The latest RNSNON, it's another geological layer with different characteristics, MUCH BETTER BRINE being the thing that interests us. | freshvoice
25/6/2013 11:36 | Sorry to ask again, but what is the "miss play" sg has been mentioning pls? TIA. | ![]() bogg1e
25/6/2013 11:31 | noli, then like sg it really is up to us investors to correct them. Pis, unless very wealthy ones (!), only follow a few shares, whereas brokers have got a much larger basket to keep an eye on. Librarian cheers | ![]() bogg1e
25/6/2013 11:24 | Thats why i get annoyed at these broker notes SG, they really have not got a clue and downplay everything. | ![]() noli
25/6/2013 11:19 | A lot cheaper i am hearing lib, nice amount of drilling rigs in ML and 27 can be seen from IO#2, now that will give iof plenty of brine. | ![]() noli
25/6/2013 11:17 | aja What is, what worth. If you are talking plants then each one based on 400ppm would turn out about 550mt on 90% yields and 10% down time. Shame they never mentioned io1 which shows how long they can run, 98% of the time is what I heard. I already knew Mid-states and others were putting in back up generators at pumping stations as are others. It wasn't an iof plant issue just the operators and they have and are fixing it. When you work it out it was a 4mt difference, but the new brine will slaughter that, so that's why the rns was badly worded. I got it, but many didn't. They said 50k plants being considered. I.E. we have brine coming out of our ears. Then hyper wells. I.E. 'Jeez we are finding some major ppm's This today 'With the robust quantity of water and concentration of iodine, the Mississippi Lime has afforded Iofina with an enormous opportunity' They have put 'plants of 450mt plus' and 'abnormally high locations will do more'. They are rolling out in those locations. In a few weeks/months (IOF open up/Plants production rate) you will look at broker notes with a far different view. Tip sheets too. They can be full of incorrect information both ways. I looked up some on other shares recently and one note claims things that are simply not true, and the facts blowing the comment out of the water, can be found on the web in seconds. !!!!!!!!! | ![]() superg1
25/6/2013 11:12 | Fibreglass reinforced plastic, not difficult to produce on the bigger tanks as they have been required for others for some time. Quicker to make as opposed to titanium, cheaper and faster availability in the US. | the librarian
25/6/2013 11:11 | sg can you please send me the link to the new thread ps i'm CK's brother.my email is bsaulkh@yahoo.co.uk. | remp31
25/6/2013 11:11 | Spike!, Chris Fay said FRP lasts 10-15 years at the AGM. I took this to mean, at least longer than any of us will be interested in Iofina!! TFC | ![]() the fat controller |
