20/6/2013 16:43 | No, trading gaps don't have to be filled, but you'd be surprised how many are. Do they become targets? Dunno. | n3tleylucas
20/6/2013 16:43 | scrutable - pink sheet data hxxp://www.otcmarket | orslega
20/6/2013 16:37 | titus a magnificent exposition of the black arts of TA. Thanks. My simplistic view of the same data is that we have reached and are testing support and are turning back upwards from grossly oversold territory. The long term channel is still intact. I have never understood the logic of gap filling. Are we bound to fill it now? If so we have further to fall, but I don't believe it. We should remember how difficult it has been to add to long positions during the last six months. People still have to invest. Where will they go except to those havens which have been so well supported in recent times? I see the money returning to IOF quite quickly. It only needs one institution or a viral awakening among US citizens via the pink sheets to put us back on the upstroke of the current oscillation wav and netley with his mischievous unpredictability has shown us a welcome indication that that might be happening. How do we find the pink sheet data? | scrutable
20/6/2013 16:30 | I doubt it Plasbryn, FTSE down over 3% now, cannot see money piling in just yet. | diggulden
20/6/2013 16:22 | While on water, I doubt we will ever make the building depots in ND point. IMO once that first permit is in the bag, the interest will start to grab that sector of the water business. I've said all along due to all the fighting over water and the high demand, package and sell it while it's a hot sector. IOF fully expect to get that permit. | superg1
20/6/2013 16:21 | Good work, Festario. | investmentguru
20/6/2013 16:19 | Could it finish Blue? | plasybryn
20/6/2013 16:15 | Bingo! Got home just in time to rid myself of half my GKP, and slam a load more into IOF. 196p was a damn fine bonus given that I was ''hoping'' for 205p only yesterday! | festario
20/6/2013 16:09 | Re the ND situation on reason for site selection, best to keep the inner reasons tight as it's a bit of a cunning plan. Having done so much reading in the area, and the various disputes over lands in different area's, there is an advantage of thinking ahead of the others near term. a bit like 2 playing musical chairs with only 2 seats, but not realising there are some spare chairs in the next room with no-one in there. | superg1
20/6/2013 16:08 | Warrensearle 20 Jun'13 - 11:22 - 2655 of 2668 0 0 .........Look at the experience the board has at taking a company to profitability and selling it on then take a guess as to what will happen here. ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Precisely why I am lobbying to change the mindset. Dr Fay said yesterday that they are aiming to construct 8 extra plants for 2014 - which would, broadly speaking, treble this year's production and treble profit, then go on to roll out 200 plants. What is the point of taking cash say at £3.50 bid and then finding you cannot get a better re-investment than 25% pa on a risky stock or 3% on property? | scrutable
20/6/2013 15:51 | Ah yes, used to use those a little when I was in the states, scary things, movement on them is massive but a great way to hedge your portfolio. Well done for calling that one at 6700, a nice return for you. | diggulden
20/6/2013 15:48 | Good day for those using SUK2 though Dig - returns twice daily movement of FTSE inverted - I.e ftse falls 2% fund up 4% put it on when FTSE was around 6700 and worked well so far - can go in ISA as well ... Don't normally recommend shorting and certainly not a long term hold but good to stop all your gains getting wiped out over the dire summer months | warrensearle
20/6/2013 15:44 | FTSE off 2.8% today, not a good day for investors on margin accounts. | diggulden
20/6/2013 15:39 | maybe sg should write the all the rns from now on as that one pre-agm was shabby to say the least. | remp31
20/6/2013 15:28 | Titus (or anyone else into chart analysis): For my (and maybe others') education in the world of Technical Analysis, could someone explain the basis for the assumption that gaps need to be filled please? | qprjohn121
20/6/2013 15:10 | Last bit 'The chemicals business continues to trade in line with expectations." We know they have new products, good sales, and now there own iodine production instead of paying $60/70 per kg for it as in the past. Chris Fay said in that interview recently, we have surplus iodine. So cleary they have enough iodine for the chem plant. Production down 4.5mt for June but new brine coming online quickly. io3 build stared io4 close behind (production capability well beyond anything I have said. io5 and 6 Q4. 50k bod sites with hyper well sites for pods (new information). ND water as before but rethink on depot locations. First permit in Montana expected time frame 6 weeks. Bloody good rns, and AGM but with a poorly written rns. Staff for io3 and 4 already being trained as we suspected. What is the big deal here. If I posted my thoughts re io3 on, you guys would fall off your chairs. Hence I'll be watching for when they commission. If 3 and 4 are anything like the rumour then watch the fireworks. Opex for io2 is very low, io3 and 4 expected to be lower. :-) | superg1
20/6/2013 15:10 | Aggree lib, and all others that have been critical of BOD presenting style.. Time we / iof said enough.. this is a great company, not to be hidden anymore. | beercapafn
20/6/2013 15:07 | Sg, post 2711 - Ahh, thanks for that, makes perfect sense now. Excellent digging once again by yourself, Noli, Pcjoe. | bobbyshilling
20/6/2013 15:02 | Thank you for the informed update superg, much appreciated. Must admit I was disappointed with the information from the presentation that they were delaying the mini's, and couldn't really see the sense in that considering the high ppm's. Water now making more sense, they really do need that PR woman. | the librarian
20/6/2013 14:57 | 'Iofina's amended Montana water permit for 80,000 bbls per day remains under review by the Authorities. As part of the Group's application, Iofina has secured land for the first pumping station and for the location of the water depot. The feasibility of a water permit in North Dakota, where the water market is more competitive, is being revisited.' Aha this can be read far differently from the actual.... this line-: 'The feasibility of a water permit in North Dakota, where the water market is more competitive, is being revisited.' Feasibily. This is where the research kicks in. If you look through old posts you may find Noli, PcJoe and I going on about the WAWS. Western area water authority. Those guys really p'd the locals off by putting depots dotted around, and then adding in a rule that no-one could build a depot within 10 miles of theirs. There has been a long battle going on with local land owners supplying water. IOF early indicators in ND were for the Waws area. Easy answer, don;t get involved in the fisticuffs in the 10 mile zone. Simply find a nice quiet spot where the rows are not going on. Bakken is a massive area. That's what the rethink is about, I asked. so they will simply be looking for other spots away from the water wars | superg1
20/6/2013 14:45 | 'In addition to working up the design for the Group's mobile plants, a review is being undertaken on the potential of utilising larger units, capable of handling up to 50,000 barrels bbls per day of brine at temperatures in excess of 100 degrees Fahrenheit. For the mobile units, the Group has identified new sites which have hyper iodine content but low brine volumes.' So out of the blue 50k units. The impression I got was get up to io6 done then consider 50k plants for the 2014 roll out. EG 50k ' 300ppm = 700mt 400ppm = 930mt The above assumes 90% yields and I've added in 10% down time. High 90's yields have been achieved. HYPER Wells. I don't know if anyone has said it but there are very up beat about pods. Eg one well 3 to 4k bpd at 1000ppm plus. On 1000ppm that' a 140mt to 190mt pod. One was said to be 2600ppm but low bpd. There are 1000's of wells going in around the area, goodness knows how many hyper wells are going to turn up. The design side of pods is all about the skid mount balance, to keep it upright in any high wind. The workings of the pods are known, it's just the trailer mount design they are going to sort. These are quick turn around builds at $200k each. Lot's of very good news in that bit that we didn't have before | superg1
20/6/2013 14:45 | Anger taxes son just call me Mummy. Ok enough humour for one day. You wi be pleased to know I have to pop out. | ansana
20/6/2013 14:38 | SG, So loosely speaking, and I won't hold you to this, but are you saying the potential for the rollout could be something like below.... IO2: 400MT IO3: 500MT IO4: 400MT IO5: 400MT IO6: 400MT So 2100MT, plus 100MT from IO1 and recycling. Do you think that is achievable? | diggulden
20/6/2013 14:31 | Titus - Thanks for your post- at what price would you consider the uptrend no longer in place? Madchick - I was also in the second row - sitting next to a lady and gent- a couple I believe. It was I who asked the question about the patent protection. I look forward to meeting more of you! Bye the way The other lady in the second row by the door had short brown hair, was that you Madchick? | escapetohome |
