Graham, as I told you last week, you will try and fail. You will set-up an alternative.

Your new found enthusiasm v ADVFN is inevitable... and forlorn.

What's the surprise here?

The key metrics continue to move in the right direction.
We are meeting forecasts, in fact production of iodine was better than I expected last week.

We are in a trading range between 31p and 38p, with a slowing rising trend. There wasn't enough in last weeks RNS to break this trend either way, I view it as mildly positive.

It will take more good news to break the upside around 38p, triggers being something like results, positive water outcome, strategy review and growth plans.

As long as the company progresses, I'm happy. On track for 50% iodine production increase and 20-25% chemical division growth with further upside to come.

Regarding full year results, the stunning growth in H2 is bound to use up working capital in the short term, but I think we are well set up for progress this year.

The market right now is not prepared to build in any growth into the share price, it's taking a wait and see approach. That's fine by me, share prices move sharply upwards when the penny drops.

neddo, I think not.

Circumstances, some of which have been out of the control of IOF (very low iodine prices brought about by corrupt and desperate companies selling cheaply and the length of time to obtain water rights)combined with some awful decision making made by a previous chairman/ceo (as has already been very well documented)have resulted in this situation. As for the "jam tomorrow" remark, at least IOF have a proper business model in place, are managing their finances prudently and have very good prospects of giving us shareholders "the jam"

That's why it could turn into significant disruption from something like 2012 through 2016 the government will have forced a minimum wage rise in Chile in the region of 25 to 30% which means the gap will have closed, material and perhaps put some higher paid positions in the minimum wage range.

The boom and splashing the cash on wage deals is now going to bite.

Now a $100 dollar item back in 2011 is now $140 without the usual price increases over that time.

The miners will use the low copper price to squeeze the miners, a decent strike will soon sort out the copper price lows.

The time that mining companies like to negotiate with their employees is when the price of the mined product is low. When the prices are low the mining companies use the threat of closure to drive as hard a bargain as they are able to. Unfortunately most of the mining companies think very little of the economic and social costs to the indigenous population. Its all about profit and in the case of some of those in Chile their own huge compensation packages, both legal and illegal.

Superg,
Correct, the exchange rate will always give a short term boost, but at some stage 12-18 months, workers wages have to rise to compensate or industrial action ensues.

I expect that will be happening with the upcoming wage negotiations.

Who's 'we' Graham? I've seen one or two other self-appointed big shots using that collective term after getting it so badly wrong. There is no 'we' mate, this is not a collective, it's not a fait accompli Graham. The sooner you accept that the better we'll all get along...

100% rise so far, now if the deal comes through this week, that rise will be insignificant.

I'm looking for 300% increase from here if the above happens.

If it doesn't, then the company has ~33p NAV, I'll be working hard to force the company to break up, either way I see upside.

High risk, high reward, dyor, as this is one to considerate only if you like risk.

AIMHO.
