24/8/2015 19:48 | The BBC's Russell Padmore says that South Africa's currency briefly slumped to its lowest value ever against the greenback today. "Investors bet that weakening growth in China will hit commodity prices hard. Overseas sales of commodities, like coal, gold, and platinum, account for more than half of the nation's exports," he explains. | bamboo2
20/8/2015 16:56 | BBC - The South African rand hit a 14-year low against the US dollar, hammered by lower commodity prices and slow growth in China - the country's largest trading partner. It is trading at just under 13 rand to the dollar. "The devaluation of the yuan in China promoted uncertainty for investors in emerging markets including South Africa," said Johannesburg-based economist Ian Cruickshanks. "There are domestic factors as well, basically all the factors impacting the production in mines and industry, erratic supply of electricity, uncertainty in the labour workforce who have high wage increase demands," he added. | bamboo2
29/6/2015 21:14 | Sold the position this morning at a small loss, until the general market situation becomes more clear. | bamboo2
22/6/2015 09:07 | Hi OX, Back in here today. | bamboo2

27/1/2015 09:03 | 573p looking ok to me now. Just need a few up days to hit that magic 600p mark. | its the oxman
22/1/2015 15:47 | Hi OX, it's looking better now. I thought that ZAR might be going to revisit the lower trendline again, which was one of my reasons for selling previously. Once it gets out of that channel it should help INVP no end. ==================== Edit added 23:55 22/01/2015 Just had a quick look at zargbp, if it can close above the upper trendline, I think we're on for a tow to 600+ for invp. | bamboo2
21/1/2015 16:35 | Still holding myself. Hoping for 600p again. | its the oxman
10/1/2015 12:55 | OX, it's slightly concerning that INVP got dragged down with the rest of the banking sector yesterday. This is despite the good performance put in by ZAR. The chart shows support at the close resting on the top of the flag and the 15day sma. The dark green line is zargbp. Another thing that really concerns me is the potential for the chart to develop a Head and Shoulders pattern, and I will be watching it very closely. I thought Coutts might be a target! hxxp://citywire.co.u "bamboo2 - 22 Aug 2014 - 09:16:16 - 31 of 68 If the earlier report is correct, it must be today. How much is already in the sp? I guess it's going to depend on what's included with Kensington. Start Morts also could be there? Did I see a 'for sale' sign over Coutts while I was on Holiday? would this fit in with the co's move upmarket? ==================== chart added 13/01/2015 23:19 OX, sold remaining shares just below b/e. Combination of factors. | bamboo2
07/1/2015 17:42 | OX, Rand looks to be strengthening, or more likely, Sterling is weakening, so could be a good point to enter or add here. Will look at chart for a flag. Daily. Target 560/570 ==================== zargbp overlaying invp 08/01/2015 14:11 | bamboo2
19/12/2014 11:57 | OX, I think it down to weakness in the Rand. rns, 19 December 2014 The group has received the required anti-trust and regulatory approvals for the sale of Kensington Group plc to Blackstone Tactical Opportunities Advisors L.L.C. and TPG Special Situations Partners. The sale is currently expected to become effective on 30 January 2015. Following the receipt of regulatory approval the sale of Start Mortgage Holdings Limited to an affiliate of Lonestar Funds became effective 4 December 2014. edit added, indicators say the share price could be about to jump higher. | bamboo2
19/12/2014 09:41 | Yes hoping for a recovery now. Still bit perplexed by extent of the drop compared to some other financials. Opportunity I guess. Next results newsflow should be positive. | its the oxman
