boozey: Big jump in NAV value at N91 where Investec has a 25% stake. You can't help but feel at times that backing INVP is like backing the wrong horse!

gwillerz78: Dividend received today and reinvested for more shares. Hopefully next dividend declared in May

a_game: I've added some more here over the past few days. Looks primed to move up strongly. Big discount to NAV. I very much appreciated the healthy dividend the other day!

boozey: Hi Salty good to see you here. I agree I can't work out why there is such a discount to NAV here - especially as other investment trusts have recovered so much. A reduced dividend and the South African connection may be to do with it. Either way I am a long term holder.

cjd190573: Hi Salty, This went 'ex' today, so 5.5p will have disappeared from yesterday's closing price. On the face of it, down a further seven points at time of writing, banks and ftse 250 have seen a bit of a sell off today - not surprising, so not really too bad all things considering. Huge patience required for further recovery, enjoy the dividend and slow return to normality.

porsche1945: @candid Good points on UK, dire for investing, brexit/covid basket case, capital destructive growth less dying dividend stocks. Stick to S&P and EM developed. Ftse. 350 like U.K. in general, best days long gone, tories a disaster.

minsky: Candid: Strong chance of socialist government in US (or what Americans call socialism) US stimulus deferred until after election dispute shenanigans Brexit Potential negative interest rates Pandemic back to square one Two vaccine trials suspended - maybe no vaccine until July next year Impending economic depression Who knows what is happening in South Africa Chances of dividend being restored even next year fading US markets at very high valuations - worry of bubble bursting with knock-on to FTSE come to think of it, why am I in shares at all?

cassini: The recent dip seemed to affect various insurance companies - like L&G, M&G, SLA, AV. etc. Not saying INVP isn't a basket case, just that it got caught up in a wider market downturn the last week or two.

minsky: They did split a few months ago - new offshoot is N91 - up over 40% since mid-March. INVP down 20% over same time period.

dennisbergkamp: Sounds like this had a recent NAV of £4+ pre covid, and is now trading around £1.50. So taking into account the effects of the huge market downturn, this must still have a decent value which is in excess of the current trading range. Any clues on whether Divi's will still occur? Seems to be a major boost to a companie's share price when they continue divi policies D
