Investec plc issued a pre-close Trading Update for the interim period ending 30 September 2023 this morning. The combination of Investec Wealth & Investment UK with the Rathbones Group has completed. For the six months ending 30 September 2023, the Group expects Adjusted earnings per share between 35.5p and 37.5p (8.0% to 14.0% ahead of prior period) on Adjusted operating profit before tax between £428.7 million and £449.6 million, with ROE to be around the mid-point of the Group's target range of 12% to 16%. Valuation is attractive with forward PE ratio at 6.5x in the top quintile for the IB&IS sector. The Group remains well capitalised with strong liquidity. The share price lacks near term momentum, but remains in a longer run uptrend which should extend in coming years. INVP is one for the long run. BUY...

Key Highlights

The Boards of Rathbones and Investec Group believe that the Combination will unlock significant scale benefits through the creation of the UK's leading discretionary wealth manager with approximately GBP100 billion of FUMA.

In particular, the Boards of Rathbones and Investec Group believe the Combination will:

-- enhance the client proposition across investment management, financial planning, fund management and banking services;

-- create a leading multi-channel distribution capability across private clients, intermediaries and charities, through an expanded network across 23 locations in the UK and Channel Islands;

-- attract and retain the best industry talent through a leading employee proposition;
-- leverage Rathbones' investment in technology and operating model to deliver an optimal client experience whilst improving operating efficiency across the larger combined business;

-- deliver significant value creation through the strong fit between the two operating models, with target annual run-rate cash synergies of at least GBP60 million, driven primarily by cost savings as well as higher net interest income;

-- support the Enlarged Rathbones Group in maintaining a resilient capital position, progressive dividend policy and continued strategic investment; and

-- establish a long-term, strategic partnership between the Enlarged Rathbones Group and Investec Group to leverage attractive collaboration opportunities.

The only thing I can see is Molton Ventures has agreed £150mln debt/loan facility which will used, amongst other things, to service £65mln facility with SVB & INVP. hxxps://www.sharesmagazine.co.uk/news/market/1662538594657930300/in-brief-molten-ventures-agrees-new-gbp150-million-debt-facility

No I didn't adjust for N19, good point.

Hmm. What happened today? It's down 5%, no RNS, not dividend time either...

No, INVP just isn't owned by that many posters I don't think.

I sold out earlier this year ( a mistake) but would like to get back in, but need a good entry price!

Say you had 1000 INVP shares bought at 475p - that's £4750.
And say the N91 price is 230p. 137 shares is worth £315 or 6.6% of your INVP holding.
So before the entitlement date of May 26 people were buying INVP to get the N91 shares.
The next day they sell them, hence the fall 486 to 450 - a drop of 7%.

If you own say 1000 shares in INVP, you will get around 137 N91 shares for free, which you can either hold and collect the dividends or sell in the mkt at any time.

If you hold 5000 shares you get 5 x 137 free shares etc.

Just had a quick look. From what I've gleaned if you hold 7000 INVP, you will get 1000 N91.
My rough fig's earlier were 93M to be distributed to 700M, which came in around 1/7.5. So the rounded fig's were fairly accurate.

Should add slight reduction in consensus EPS for next year. GLA

Investec 4.4% dividend yield and market cap worth loads less than its NAV and it makes a
decent profit and PE ratio of just 10.5%. Sounds good to me.
