Pension liabilities

The IAS 19 valuation of pension assets and liabilities has been updated as at 30 September 2010, resulting in a net pension liability of £593 million (31 March 2010: £581 million). The overall increase in the pension liability of £12 million is driven by an actuarial loss of £84 million as a result of a reduction in discount rates used for the actuarial valuation of pension liabilities.

So do a rights issue, reduce to zero, divest the final salary scheme (as elsewhere) and

.....no surprises although charges for the South America IR contract have increased...........remains on course and interim divi up 50% under scores the confidants in year end.....start buying!

I took mine at about 3.09 so missed a bit of the rise but also missed this drop !!! Pure luck.

Yes could be.Bid rumour keeping it going for the moment. My personal view fwiw is that it might test 3.40/3.50 at some stage in the near future. If it dont get through that I think I may take the proft and invest elsewhere.
