20/1/2011 15:58 | Been an up and down day but with buying ops for CFD trade and adding to long term shares:-) Surely it can't go down further and hopefully no more damage to share price | shazzieb
20/1/2011 12:29 | LOL. Funny this investment lark. Temporarily closed my long term ISYS spreadbet last week to take advantage of a trading opportunity elsewhere. Turns out to have been a blinder of a trade as I can now get back in at a much better price. Dilemma is how long to wait. wrt trading update it would appear that analysts do not believe their forecasts and are sceptical that they will be able to recover the lost ground in the 2nd half. | mbaxter

10/1/2011 18:10 | This is nothing new! I dealt with them 10 years ago and their standard practise was not to pay any suppliers during Feb & March which was the run up to their year end. They had a similar policy before the half year end. I could never figure out what the advantage to them was as they were cash rich in those days, but it didn't seem to do the share price any harm. I don't know whether that policy has continued in recent years. | optimist
06/1/2011 22:31 | Invensys advances on China merger news By Bryce Elder and Neil Hume Published: January 6 2011 09:20 | Last updated: January 6 2011 20:17 Invensys held firm on Thursday even as the London market recorded its first fall of 2011. Shares in the engineer gained 0.9 per cent to 359p on news that China was looking to create the world’s largest railway equipment producer by merging its two state-owned rolling stock makers. EDITOR’S CHOICE WPP misses rally after weak ad outlook - Jan-05 Sterling resurgence at risk of petering out - Jan-04 Cost of UK wheat rises to record high - Jan-04 In September, Invensys signed a deal with one of the companies, CSR Corporation, to license control systems and bid jointly for international contracts. The proposed merger should mean that China generates enough spare capacity to step up exports, analysts said. Renewed takeover hopes also aided Invensys, which in November was forced to deny it had held offer talks with its Chinese partner. A £2.9bn market valuation puts Invensys within the reach of peers who value its rail and automation technology, though its £5bn pension liability could put off some predators, said analysts | jak1
