I don't think IRV is as bad, but no bank will lend without equity putting in.

Emerald Investment are going to make a tidy profit when the debt for equity occurs.
Buying debt at 50p in the £1.

Surely the price of the debt spells out that the equity is more or less worthless.

One of Britain’s biggest construction groups, Balfour is recovering after coming close to collapse itself in 2015.

Its chief executive Leo Quinn – a turnaround expert who came on board in 2015 with a mandate to get the business back in shape – has rebuilt the company.

Reporting annual results for the year to the end of December, Balfour’s pre-tax profit jumped from £10m last time round to £117m on revenue broadly flat at £6.9bn.

Mr Quinn said Balfour had been on the precipice and in danger of suffering a similar fate to construction and outsourcing peer Carillion, which at the start of the year collapsed under pressure from its £1.5bn debt mountain.

“We had our own near-death experience three years ago – eight profit warnings, £600m cash outflow in nine months,” Mr Quinn said. -------

The results must be so close now maximum time left is 10 trading days (exluding today).

The price action suggests it will be sooner rather than later. Looks and feels very positive.

The news will be the banks have said no administration imminent for this debt dog. This will gap down massively on open due to huge selling after hours. Sub 70 p today. Amazing how people have forgotten how much trouble irv are in. 600 million of debt monster cash burning waste contracts fat cat board debt being sold for half its value.
