20/2/2007 13:25 | willie Yes. Believe it or not the domain squatters have already got www.asteroidsurvival Mind you, by 2036 I'll probably be more concerned with haemmoroids ! PS Diverting an asteroid should be quite easy. Near the day, just position all those magnetic distance healing people where the asteroid is due to hit and get them all to wave their hands about to push it away. Nice scientific chance for gathering empirical evidence ;-) | ![]() yump

20/2/2007 11:34 | Ok if you are bored. Enjoy Proof of what can happen if a wife or girlfriend drags her husband or boyfriend along shopping This letter was recently sent by Tesco's Head Office to a customer in Oxford : -------------------- Dear Mrs. Murray, While we thank you for your valued custom and use of the Tesco Loyalty Card, the Manager of our store in Banbury is considering banning you and your family from shopping with us, unless your husband stops his antics. Below is a list of offences over the past few months all verified by our surveillance cameras: 1. June 15: Took 24 boxes of condoms and randomly put them in people's trolleys when they weren't looking. 2. July 2: Set all the alarm clocks in Housewares to go off at 5-minute intervals. 3. July 7: Made a trail of tomato juice on the floor leading to feminine products aisle. 4. July 19: Walked up to an employee and told her in an official tone, "Code 3" in housewares..... and watched what happened. 5. August 14: Moved a 'CAUTION - WET FLOOR' sign to a carpeted area. 6. September 15: Set up a tent in the outdoor clothing department and told shoppers he'd invite them in if they would bring sausages and a Calor gas stove. 7. September 23: When the Deputy Manager asked if she could help him, he began to cry and asked, "Why can't you people just leave me alone?" 8. October 4: Looked right into the security camera; used it as a mirror, picked his nose, and ate it. 9. November 10: While appearing to be choosing kitchen knives in the Housewares aisle asked an assistant if he knew where the antidepressants were. 10. December 3: Darted around the store suspiciously, loudly humming the "Mission Impossible" theme. 11. December 6: In the kitchenware aisle, practised the "Madonna look" using different size funnels. 12. December 18: Hid in a clothing rack and when people browsed, yelled "PICK ME!" "PICK ME!" 13. December 21: When an announcement came over the loud speaker, assumed the foetal position and screamed "NO! NO! It's those voices again." And; last, but not least: 14. December 23: Went into a fitting room, shut the door, waited a while; then yelled, very loudly, "There is no toilet paper in here." Yours sincerely, Charles Brown Store Manager | ![]() hirschnathan
20/2/2007 10:31 | DiogenesJ Thanks. And for those who prefer a more energetic presentation: "Get on board, train about to leave station, blue sky's the limit, mm's short of stock" blah blah. Well it seems to work for a lot of stocks ;-) Perhaps that's what we're missing with IBG ! | ![]() yump
20/2/2007 10:09 | Thanks, yump - just the sort of friendly, understated ramp that can be genuinely helpful and informative. Will have a look at them. :-) | ![]() diogenesj
20/2/2007 09:41 | Oh well...seeing as its a bit boring here ! if anyone's interested in another internet related play... There must be plenty of peeps on here that have built or have had a website built and know how much of a pain updating them can be, adding extra pages, creating site maps, changing navigation etc. etc. (not so bad if you code yourself of course). There's 1001 software packages for creating sites - most with serious defects imo if you want a serious e-commerce site thats useable by the customer and the owner. Or you get a designer to do it and then have to keep going back to them. So I've got some shares in Mediasurface MSR. Its got best of breed content management/design products. Sage founder present. Not cheap, but not expensive either. More than passing relationship with Google. Growing at 35% forecast, p/e 15 ish. UK base. share price not gone bonkers yet either. | ![]() yump
20/2/2007 08:50 | I rarely do this but I thought I'd give you a heads up on two companies I'm in that reported in the last week and have new forecasts out and they look cheap. XPG are illiquid and lack asset backing at 68p giving a p/e of 4.3 for 2008: Year Ending Revenue (£m) Pre-tax (£m) EPS P/E PEG EPS Grth. Div Yield 31-Dec-07 19.60 0.60 12.30p 5.6 0.1 +105% n/a 0.0% 31-Dec-08 21.50 n/a 16.00p 4.3 0.1 +30% n/a 0.0% DMG look much safer but also illiquid at 110p and rising rapidly on a p/e of 5.7 for 2008: | ![]() aleman

19/2/2007 15:13 | But yump..we know it is going to happen because we`re on a collision course, but we want it now, not tomorrow; tomorrow may be too late, yump.....we want it now, we want it yesterday! | williemanjaro
19/2/2007 14:48 | In some ways its nice to have some good stocks not going up. Certainly don't want them all to go up at once - that would be the sign of an end to any small stock bull market and also a very difficult time as going into cash simultaneously would be a complete pain, CGT and all that. Nice orderly cycling of the good stocks up and down will do me thank you. eg. 25% of them peaking each year for the next 5 years, so that there are still more to move the money back into. | ![]() yump
19/2/2007 13:51 | I was expecting profit taking to hold the shares back through the winter, although it has been a little stronger than I anticipated. I expect to see some strength from the end of April in the run up to the interims and the AGM. I would have thought sellers would be tempted to hang on another couple of months, although T-traders from the finals may not have that luxury. | ![]() aleman
19/2/2007 13:19 | Nunc-I could theorize this one to death in many respects IBG`s share price performance has been exemplary if you take the 2-3 year view. Now when IBG jumped from 20p in early 2006 matters get hazier. The market has been strong for small caps and the 11 month sideways ebb and flow is bound to see `Growth chasers` jumping ship. I don't think volumes are particuarly high here. But- there appears to be a certain lack of interest and IBG surely needs a larger institutional following or a larger broker recommending..... | williemanjaro |
