15/2/2008 12:17 | radar, this buying has been going on for the past month or so. I thought it strange way back in Dec, when the price was way too low. Then with the rise I was sure a bid was coming. It has. These MMs have been shrewd with this stock not too alert too many people, whilst also remembering IDS is not of those flavor of the month stocks, so demand is not as high, though looking at the trades it seems those who are buying are happy to buy as much as they can. I'm expecting this to continue rising now towards the £3 mark with the bidders buying more stock. They must of course have used the funds to do the initial leg work. | powwow
15/2/2008 11:18 | powwow, Yep, I don't see any reason why the share price should dramatically fall all of a sudden. A potential takeover bid and results on March 4th. That should be enough to keep the momentum going. A little surprised though there isn't more buying today after yesterday's bid news. Interesting to find out who this tentative bidder is. | radarlove
15/2/2008 09:34 | few more big trades radar. two chunks of 40k.. I'm expecting this to rise again in a few days.. Glad a spotted this at £1.50, it was just too low for no reason at the time. I'm sure the CEO will be thinking of £3.00 per share. | powwow
15/2/2008 08:34 | radarlove, asos, it was just a laugh that's all. It wouldn't make sense, however a clothes shopping channel for them could be a good simple add on. Maybe IDS should talk to them about having a fashion slot with ASOS clothes, I bet they'd bet interested | powwow
14/2/2008 19:35 | Just got in and read the exciting news. The approach seems tentative - perhaps, more a touch it and see. Having spoken to Ideal Shopping's CEO, Andrew Fryatt, on a number of occasions, he is no mug and has an excellent business head, so he's not going to sell the company cheaply. My guess would be £3 a share which is close to the Numis target. For the buyer that, in my view, is a fair price given the company's upside potential and the present retail uncertainty. I would be amazed if it's ASOS, powwow. My guess would be an established overseas retailer looking to break into the British market via TV/Online. | radarlove
14/2/2008 14:29 | wonder if someone like ascos would consider buying IDS moving from internet to TV too. could be a good move don't you think. | powwow
14/2/2008 13:28 | They have 16 million in the bank, Freeview license which is very valuable too and a business that is picking up. I assume they have received an actual value of the bid. | powwow
14/2/2008 13:25 | What the current shareholding list. This is at NOV 2007 | powwow
14/2/2008 13:10 | I'll pencil in £2.60 at least. | powwow
14/2/2008 12:53 | No but the share price was manipulated and held at 200p for some time before being shorted down to 140p, so I wold have though a range of 210 to 300p, ie a third more than the price before the announcement in the usual fashion. | fur
14/2/2008 12:42 | Fur any ideas of offer price. | powwow
14/2/2008 12:19 | RETV is a an obvious choice or the management themslves, or even one of the more established retailers wanting to get internet TV platform that can be expanded. | fur
14/2/2008 11:46 | The bidder though we have no idea who it is will know what they are worth. Would they sell cheap, who knows, but then if there are the recent shareholders who have accumulated at £1.50 - £2.00, they'd be happy to sell out at £2.60 as that's a good profit. It does bug me however how these funds are allowed to buy on inside information, it's obvious, yet if we were a PI doing just that , it would have been illegal. I expect to some more activity on this stock with a view that maybe someone else may look at a possible bid., | powwow
14/2/2008 11:26 | I knew it tonyx.. I just knew they may get a bid , I could tell with the buying early on.. Still its happened now and I expect a bid to be above £3.00 really as they are worth every penny. but then again we'll have to see what their potential is and what the management feel their exit strategy is. Lets hope they don't give it away cheap, and one can assume they may well buy more shares while they are making an offer for the company. I bet they have offered £2.60 which is still very very cheap. | powwow

13/2/2008 14:47 | lets hope IDs goes back in a way as seen on ASC.. | powwow
13/2/2008 13:59 | tonyx, I agree with you 100%. All in all looks very positive. | powwow
13/2/2008 12:57 | powwow, Don't have a clue where the stock is coming from although they do seem to be short of stock now. I think fair value here is around 300p. Internet sales are growing & IDS added 206K new customers in second half of 2007. If I was a bidder, I would also be accumulating stock at these cheap levels. | tonyx
13/2/2008 12:45 | not mine :) Tonyx, do you know how they go about collecting this amount of stock, it's quite a bit really. Now with all these buys its a looking promising indeed. As I said predictions have been £3.00 a share, but I'll pencil in £2.60 for now. They are either buying the stock as they know its very under valued, which it is, or they are positioning themselves due to a possible bid for the company which would need to be in excess of £3.00. What's your views.? | powwow
13/2/2008 11:38 | Hi powwow. Another 20K buy I see :-) | tonyx
12/2/2008 10:23 | hi tonyx, finally yes, I never doubted it would move up, it was just a matter of time and when the MMs has their cup of tea. AS I said before this will I'm very certain rise till results way past £2.60. | powwow
12/2/2008 10:22 | First bit of movement for a while. The 50K trade was at mid price. If we can push through £2 then £2.20 is on the cards quite quickly. | tonyx
06/2/2008 08:43 | I'm sure it will move as it has done last week...Where are they getting the shares from. I'm just wondering if there is going to be a bid for the company, it's either that or they know results moving forward and company prospects are going to be back the recent highs. | powwow
05/2/2008 19:02 | Plus another 30K. Surprised there has been no movement in share price | tonyx |
