Aer Lingus use to be a good airline to fly on while Iberia was a great airline until BA got their hands on them and brought the passenger flying experience down to their level.

BA pilots walk round airports as though they are far more superior to the pilots of any other airline. As the saying use to go "BA pilots are the only ones who look at Flight from the front to the back" now they'll be looking at Flight from the back to the front.

BA cabin crew walk round hotels during night stops as though they are the bees-knees of cabin crew.

And as for many BA male stewards on board the aircraft most of the time they are usually very unfriendly and act more like bouncers in a night club or concentration camp guards giving a truly dreadful passenger flying experience.

KLM, Swiss and TAP Air Portugal cabin crew knock spots off BA cabin crew and are very friendly giving a great all round passenger experience.

Two of the top 5 airlines around the world for the worse passenger flying experience are Ryanair and British Airways or "Birdseed" as many call them.

Nasty chart wedge shape forming IMO

If USA markets now slide due to second wave in Covid-19 , lockdown restrictions being lifted too soon many say

Next leg down for the DOW and FTSE 100 will IMO be savage

IAG ?

Wedge suggest a very large drop

Suggest those invested or thinking of investing here read what it might be

dyor IMO

No one in their right mind will fly until vaccine surely, we all know planes are super spreaders for colds, flu, etc.

Death rates haven’t been halved you deeeeeek. Weekend fudging again. They’ll be back up to 500 plus today.
I always remember scenes of the elephant graveyard in many films, i suspect there’ll be many films shot in the future from plane graveyards where thousands are just left parked and decaying.
I do like the positiveness at times on here, especially those who are so heavy underwater and talking of a bounce back within 2years to the glory days. FFS.

FTSE futures today are +1.6%. If IAG has little institutional buying today to drive price up, with positive sentiment of UK daily covid deaths halved and lockdown heading for relaxation, then retail holders know the short term score. imho. dyor

The industry rates was just an argument to empty cheaply too Not saying it was right Anyone BA was ruined a several years again .. it once was a fantastic airline to work for , ppl were proud to work for ., not anymore

I agree with you We all need to get paid as cost of living goes up .After all this printing , I am expecting inflation to go up. Wages will have to go .It is cycles though .. out with old in with new. The new are always employ cheap. But to cull staff is not the way . BA has historically always gone down the voluntary route but if not choice the VR has been well paid. But that is also changing .

jailbird .......I am afraid you are wrong about 'industry rates' as there are plenty of other airlines crew who have better pay and conditions.

Also, it i about time that People in this country stopped saying that when companies pay their employees less and less it is a positive ............

Employees should always be trying to achieve better pay and conditions . To do otherwise would ultimately end with everyone earning nothing.

After all most large companies will always try and pay employees less but make them work harder.

logan...being paid more than others is not a crime and something that all employees should be aspiring to achieve.

MF Crew would disagree with you about being higher paid and being unreasonable.

But for me the biggest challenge for BA is how do they recover their main source of money that is business class travel in the near term .Without that planes will be flying at a loss . I wonder what reconfigurations can be used to make more money .EasyJet is a better bet on recovery out of the two low cost carriers . Ryanair not so sure yet as these airlines do rely on full capacity to make money since they are low Cost carriers Their fares cannot be cheap if their planes have to run on up to only 2/3rd full because of distancing rules .

The pilots and crew have been paid very well in the past.BA has been just been bringing their salaries lower in line with the industry rates Like I said before a divide and rule policy was previously used by BoD between the pilots and crew when pay rises were being negotiated only a few years ago .Outsourcing was a way to get rid of older staff and the pension scheme .BA over outsourced and have lost a lot of experience in the process .I am sure some will come and be unsourced again but never entirely .

I believe it to be the other way round that it has been the Aircrews of BA that have been very unreasonable over the years as they have always been some of the highest paid aircrews in the UK flying the least hours.

m1k.careful may have a point. But to answear your point they do it because they can get away with it.Friday this was front page news, now its page 4 or 5.This covers 44k people out of a population of what,66m.44k could be doubled by ex staff, satisfied customers etc,but it's only the first 44k who are probaly worried and having sleepless nights.Purely by the nature of this board (Financial/share dealing etc) if BA made a statement at midnight that the 44k were dismissed on the spot, but the share price doubled or trebled at 8AM the likes of monty etc would not mention you, they would be full of their own self gloating at how much money they had made.
