Sold out completely, first time in many years I have not held BA/IAG shares, funds will be banked to make up for loss of the shareholder discount.

Looking good to close the shorts - profit is being eaten up by reduced time value. Not that easy making money on these.

Had to pay to move short positions to march 2015, and 40p higher at 480p. Losses are protected, but net profit might be tiny due to costs incurred this week.I am all set for next lot of short positions - will open those nearer 500p

IAG WEEKLY CHART.
Wave 5 target 522. I think the spike up on 1 May was an anomaly but cannot alter the reading so the share price now is at multi year high given that the peak in February was 457.2.

I just got this email from BA - Over the last few years I have got far more saving on fares with shareholder discounts than I expect from dividends. I have only a small holding to qualify for he discount and will sell at the next Fib target (522) is the share price gets there. All depend on oil prices currently I guess.

EMAIL TEXT
I am writing to advise you that from midnight on 31 January 2015 the shareholder discount scheme for former British Airways shareholders will come to a close.

Since the merger in January 2011 we have been reviewing the discount scheme. It was kept open to former British Airways shareholders, but it has not been available to former Iberia holders or new IAG shareholders. It has never been available to institutional shareholders, who own the majority of our shares.

After continuing with the discount for almost four years, with the recent announcement of our intention to resume dividend payments we feel it is the right time to close the scheme. We will of course continue to offer competitive prices via ba.com and hope that you will continue to support British Airways’ business.

However, you will still have the opportunity to book flights using the shareholder discount between now and midnight on 31 January 2015. Flights can be booked 355 days in advance.

Whilst we appreciate that this will come as a disappointment to some of you, in reality the take-up of the discount was extremely low and feedback from shareholders has been that they value a dividend more. We hope that in light of the dividend announcement you will continue to support us as a valued shareholder.

Yes, impressive rise. Looks good for a sell-off once 500p is taken out.Not much left for long trades.

Charles Stanley Brokers. 28/11/2014

International Consolidated Airlines Group (ICAG: 458p) was one of several airline stocks
to power ahead on the news from Vienna and the BA/Iberia owner ended the day with a gain
of 4.8% (in busy trade). The chart reveals that this forms part of a larger move to the upside
that has seen the share price rally by 41% in the space of six weeks and, in the process,
reach a seven and a half year high. It now looks extremely overbought and some profit-taking
is possible but the bull case is still very much intact.

Share prices move to allow trading volumes - I am sure you can make profits going both long and short. It's just a matter of having good exit strategy to take profits and reduce losses.Good luck.

You're brave Younasm, what you need is bird flu to break out big time in the run-up to Xmas, then that short might perform!

What you are asking is Can it reach a market cap of £12B? Definetely, but It'll take a while and wont be in a straight line. The dividend once started, maintained and grown will, i think, take this eventually much higher than £6.
