Divi pay day is 9th Sep for info. With market conditions in general looking more positive plus it's quite impressive to me that the debt has been reduced by over 3bn and based on the current rate it's fair to expect all cleared by 2026/7 imo. As long as we stop poking the bear in Russia and Iran are negotiated out of a sig retaliation all looking positive. Imo they will retaliate as have to be seen to be doing something but fingers crossed USA negotiators but tempt them into a deal to minimise it. With the dollar carrot they use to influence they are pretty good at doing that. GLA

I see tonight that all the major US airline shares are up 4 to over 6% which may help more positive sentiment and interest in IAG. Have had nothing of any substance to add recently although I can confirm through personal contacts that BA flights to the Middle East are fully loaded. Hope that is happening to other key longish destinations. Have again evidence that Easy Jet and Ryan Air are experiencing a spat of delayed flights for various reasons. BA in Europe dose not always escape such delays but less so.

Good economic news I suspect behind the spike north and news of lower interest rates being likely. Let's see the 170 broken and get this sleepy stock fully woken up and realising it's real potential over the coming months. GLA

Nice one Betsy. Yes aware of it and love that too. Dont read beauty magazines they will only make you feel ugly is fab and I adore following Dont waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead sometimes your behind, the race is long and in the end it's only with yourself. Showing my age I guess lol

Andy you make me genuinely and I think youre a good guy. Here's a philosophy I like that comes from a poem called The Station that I fancy sharing.Don't let the regrets of yesterday or fears of tomorrow become the twin thieves that rob you of today' It's actually one to always try and recall as we all do the above. I have it pinned at work and remind my daughters of it as much as possible as its essence is very powerful. It really can make a day feel good again. GLA

I'll politely disagree as run extremely well.5 consecutive record years pre Covid.Huge investment last year and div shows confidence the company has going forward. It's a Covid recovery stock after all and recent reports show good profits. Buying airlines is just another sign of real confidence. You don't do that if concerned ref paying off debts. Lastly nearly every investment forecaster is positive.

JetBlue had a bad day yesterday closing 20% down after rights issue dragging majors down a few percent. Others have reported domestic demand reduction.

IAG is and has proven to be a bad investment for most and before arguing the point check the 5 year graph.

IAG is not run well , handing out dividends to appease shareholders is bad investment. Money should have been used to reduce debt or reinvest in BA . Thankfully Air Europa debacle is over , now they're talking of wanting to buy TAP? .
Getting your company running on all cylinders first would be my way of doing it .
Also you will be bidding at peak cycle . Bad idea.

Andy I read your posts on SNG and totally get your negativity with that Compsny. However this one is recovering nicely if you look at lowest point after Covid of just over a pound. Give it until Q3 and 2 will be close imo. In a year 3 highly likely. It's one for long term that's all. We all have our own agendas but mine is pension top up an only 2 years away hopefully. GLA

Andy genuine question. Youve been very negative in virtually all your posts. Can I ask why you're invested. I'mJust curious or are in fact not invested? The 2 pound isnt hype. Just read the forecasts from all the major investment companies and you will quickly see nearly all have this over 2 in the not too distant future.

Terrible week so far. IMHO this will sink back towards 150 v.soon. strong results couldn’t aid a recovery of any sort. Something seriously wrong.

I feel very sorry for LT holders especially the ones believing the £2 hype.

Now that I wasnt expecting. Thanks for posting. Guess patience is key here but div payment step forward albeit low which got little mention. They didn't have to but a sign of confidence ultimately for me. Q3 Nov 8.Let's start seeing some real traction soon. GLA

Agree - great buying or topping up opportunity. Recent Motley Fool articlehttps://www.fool.co.uk/2024/08/04/down-43-over-5-years-this-ftse-100-stock-could-skyrocket/Down 43% over 5 years, this FTSE 100 stock could skyrocketThis FTSE 100 stock is yet to return to its pre-pandemic levels. However, our writer believes this stock could reward investors in the coming years. The FTSE 100 is home to several companies that haven't truly recovered from a series of economic shocks, including the pandemic, Brexit, and Russia's invasion of Ukraine. One of those companies is airline operator IAG (LSE:IAG).The stock stumbled on Brexit worries, slumped during the pandemic, and has suffered from elevated aviation fuel prices following Russia's invasion. However, it's now a business that is moving in the right direction.Brokers say it's 'undervalued'IAG is one of the most undervalued companies on the FTSE 100 according to brokers and analysts covering the stock. In fact, the average share price target is approximately 39% above the current share price. At £1.65, the stock is some distance below the target of £2.22.It's interesting to note that even the lowest share price target is £1.71. That's a premium to the current share price, and a very good sign that the least bullish analysts still thinks fair value is upwards. The highest price target is £4.50. That's pretty much where the stock used to be before the pandemic, and it would represent 173% growth. In short, some analysts think this stock could skyrocket.
