Monty, I don't understand why you are trying to talk down shares that you own ?

I see a lot more positives in the IAG share price than you.

New rules came in May 2018 I would be amazed if no fine from GDRP victims would say what's the point of rules if no action, this seems worst than the PC world hack, fine of 2% of turnover if they wanted. Lol that would stop buybacks.

There is no indication that BA were storing CVVs. The attack appears to have compromised the front end and transmitted details to a third-party as they were entered. Thus leaking the CVV (and any other payment data entered during the transaction) but not allowing access to any stored data. This was a very sophisticated, malicious criminal attack.

Yet some quarters are speculating that BA shall face a fine under data protection. lol.

Storm in a tea cup....a fine is unlikely, BA are more likely to be praised for their actions.

I'm implicated with this hack having purchased four flights within the two week window. All I can say is 10/10 to BA for their handling of this issue. Also to Barclaycard, before I had an opportunity to call...they had contacted me via text and email to advise that my details may be at risk, however I can continue to use my card in stores/hotels etc and ATMs, but they've put a stop on online/telephone purchase until my new card arrives within a few days.

The reporting within the media has been nothing short of appalling.

Tank ? No but monday mornings are always down .

This will recover.
IAG reported it within 72hrs, as required, which should mean a much reduced fine , if there is one.

Ned
The more shares they can buy back and cancel, the better as far as I am concerned.

Excellent buy backs.
At this rate, we should achieve sub 2,000,000,000 shares.

Monty. not big time.
This is a minor problem which will cost them very little.
They will have to pay some compensation but it will take time and not be substantial, when compared to the annual profits.

Would be nice, but in the meantime, 625p possible short term, September historically the worst month for the market anyway. But this is bad news short term, for brand, financial costs, etc.
GDRP will they make an example and show their teeth? New rules came into force 25th May 2018. See how it plays out.
