I'd expect the share buyback to complete towards the end of the month, should see a 3% rise on the day that the shares are cancelled.

I know remainders saying if no deal on Brexit, then airspace problems between EU and U.K. got until next March to do a deal though.

Potentially a very good week, we have Today's rise off the back of the CITIGROUP buy note, followed by August Traffic STATS announced Weds, August should be a record breaking month for IAG....plus no French strikes.

Monty...I don't disagree. Personally I've have traded seven times this week in and out of IAG. Simply reporting that CITIGROUP have upgraded to a buy.

Thats what remainders saying could happen if no deal, airspace gridlocked until something sorted 25 miles of lorries parked on the motorways waiting for border crossing, gov already saying stockpile medical supplies. Not me saying, a deal will be done. Its all a game of bluff at the moment.

there is no doubt that the CAA and EASA are in bed with each other neil !

So Monty is suggesting that the airspace over Europe shall be locked down, with UK carriers not allowed into Europe and vice versa. European carriers shall not be allowed to overfly UK airspace to enter the North Atlantic track system.

Dream on...no concerns here, business as normal from April 2019.

The CAA have got into bed with EASA, no plans for a divorce, regardless of the BREXIT outcome.

Monty - Plenty on the 'yield' thread with the focus on trying to balance likely outcomes. ;)

I'm sure once a brexit deal is done these will move ahead, but uncertainty over airspace etc, is worrying for investors well me anyway. Shares holding well thanks to buybacks, otherwise I think we would be lower. Any thoughts guys on Brexit?

Yes thinks that's a big enough reason, uncertainty.

So, Monty, it really isn't for any substantive reason........they are just looking for an excuse to short this stock and others.

Worries over Brexit, airspace, etc, the whole uncertainty over Brexit, investors hate uncertainty.

Why should it be messy for IAG? British Government are going to kick BA out of the UK?

Lots of companies are foreign owned and have headquarters outside of the UK.

Fortunately for IAG, they employ just as many people in mainland Europe as they do within the UK.

Business as normal from April next year and the markets know it.
